Koczy and conduct concerns

[edit]

Hello Yashchi, and thanks for your work at Rosemarie Koczy. At the talk page, you've raised a few concerns about my conduct, namely that I am editing anonymously, that I am under discretionary sanctions. The former is true, though editors here are largely anonymous, and I don't see it as an issue; you are of course. Discretionary sanctions are a strange bit of Wikipedia process. You can read more about them at WP:ACDS, but the short version is that contentious topic areas, not editors, are placed under discretionary sanctions, which denote that administrative action in those areas can come more swiftly and intensely. I edit in many such areas, and my talk page notice is there to let other editors and admins know that I am formally aware of the higher standards required in those areas.

One of the concerns you raised had explicit legal ramifications. You described my desire to exclude content sourced solely by an affidavit you wrote as "an intentional libelous act". Obviously I disagree, for many reasons, though the most pertinent is that Koczy is deceased. I would also like for you to read and consider WP:No legal threats; I have seen many editors be blocked for stating or implying that they are considering legal action against other editors or Wikipedia as a whole. I don't view your comment in that light, but I urge caution in future comments. If you have any further questions or concerns about my conduct, I would be happy to answer them here or at my user talk page.

I also have some concerns about your conduct. I view your approach at the article talk page to be evidence of a battleground mentality, which I do not see as necessary. I have every reason to believe that all three of us are interested only in a high-quality biographical article, and I am hopeful we can collaborate on that shared interest politely, and without hostility. I am also concerned about your repeatedly adding a source that you authored, the affidavit, over the objections of other editors. This conduct falls afoul of WP:SELFCITE. Thank you for considering these matters. Firefangledfeathers 18:15, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
