Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Zachtron, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions, especially what you did for Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Record Labels. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! 78.26 (I'm no IP, talk to me!) 22:17, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you and I will. Hopefully this project will finally start to gain some real traction with correct information being listed. There are many articles which are a complete mess right now, especially those that deal with now defunct record labels. Zachtron (talk) 22:10, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Record Label

[edit]

I left a message on WP Music discussion  Miss Bono (zootalk) 19:20, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Zachtron:

I am really busy with WP:U2 right now but in a few days I will be able to do some research and Improve Hollywood Records' article. Please, feel free to pass for my User Page to see some of my interest and so you can suggest me articles for better results.  Miss Bono (zootalk) 13:16, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, that sounds good, thank you. Zachtron (talk) 18:22, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

I'm blocking you per WP:NOTHERE. The concerns raised earlier at WP:COIN about the fact that you have only contributed with respect to Rocket Records is possibly problematic, but enough to be coincidental. Your retaliatory AfD nominations were not the best move, but possibly forgivable. However, your use of a hoax website to serve as a reference for the article on Rocket Records is patently unacceptable. Based on the sum total of this evidence, you are here for a purpose contrary to that of building an encyclopedia. --Kinu t/c 03:28, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

By the way... seriously? Was anyone going to fall for this crap? Not registered to someone with a @nytimes.com e-mail address, non-functional internal links, no evidence of any other archival material on the site, no evidence of a Jeff Trager writing any such article for the NYT? Nice try. --Kinu t/c 03:33, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
How am I supposed to know that a site registered to The New York Times in the link provided by IAOOM is a hoax? I said publicly on Rocket Records AfD page that I am not the most web savvy person, so that is why I asked for input on the source. Also, I asked you and others about the source and did not add it to a single article so that you could verify whether or not it was reliable. You are saying it is a "hoax" website, but I asked you about it administrator and never once used it in a single article. Why am I getting blamed for doing the right thing and asking you? Regards. Zachtron (talk) 08:11, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The website didn't exist until yesterday, it can't be found on Bing as you claim, and you just happened to stumble across it. You'll have to excuse my incredulity. --Kinu t/c 16:45, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

May 2013

[edit]
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for WP:NOTHERE and false sourcing. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Kinu t/c 03:29, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I did not purposely contribute to any type of outside "false sourcing". I used a source found on Bing. If it is "garbage" than it is garbage, but an indefinite block is not something that I feel is right or warranted because of your opinions that my articles are "terrible" and your association with some of the editors that do not like them. I am politely requesting an unblock directly from you as the blocking administrator Kinu because I do not feel an indefinite block is either warranted or fair at all. I have made positive and good faith contributions and your opinion(s) of my overall editing and now accusation of purposeful outside false sourcing simply is not true. Why would I ask you about a particular source first on your Talk page before adding it to the article if I was trying to be disruptive in any way at all? You could have productively made your point to me without an indefinite block. I politely ask you for an unblock from you directly because this is simply not fair in any way at all. Zachtron (talk) 03:55, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

The appearance of a spectacularly badly faked external source that only you could find just as your article was about to be deleted is simply too much of a coincidence. I'm very concerned that this is a single purpose account revisiting a topic that was heavily promoted by a nest of sockpuppets just a few months ago. Looking though the sequence of events, I'm very concerned about either your honesty, or your competency. Unless you can be more forthcoming about your relationship to the topic and your tactics, or alleviate concerns about your ability to function as an editor, I don't see that lifting this block would be helpful to the project. Kuru (talk) 11:13, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Considering that no search that I am using is able to bring this article up (probably because someone registered the domain today), please post the query that you are using to find this article. Note: the ability to find it will not establish its legitimacy. --Kinu t/c 04:56, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I will go to Bing to find and post the query, but you may be able to find it beforehand. I typed in "Rocket Records record label" search term and it was somewhere after 10th page on Bing or so. Please also note that I am One of Many has falsely stated on the Rocket Records AfD page that I caused "substantial damage" which is totally untrue. All of the internal Wikipedia links I have made are fully accurate, and in fact you will not find one internal link that was done in bad faith. Please feel free to verify that on my contrib history as well if you'd like. Your unfair block has also caused me great embarrassment, and I'm getting slammed on the Rocket Records AfD page with negative comments by various editors now. That is simply not right Administrator. Regards. Zachtron (talk) 07:59, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
