Sorry, I'm new to this whole setup, didn't realize I was treading on personal ground. Tried to email you to apologize but there's none listed for you, so I'm putting this up on here. Why can other people edit a person's user page if it's not an article?

I'm not really sure, but it's okay if you really didn't know what you were doing, as I suspected. At least you were trying to do something positive by making an article. I think it may be because some people use the user pages incorrectly, and wikipedia isn't for personal home pages. Zendik 16:21, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry. I'm absolutely new to wiki and thought your posting was a decoy. regardless, i apologize. good luck in your creative pursuits.

Lydia Jackson

[edit]

I have removed the redirect on "Lydia Jackson", and you can now create the article for the beauty contest winner with that name. Professor marginalia 01:02, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was wrong. The process is a little more complicated because the "Lydia Jackson" page is blanked until the new one is created. The redirect has been restored for the time being. When you write the new article, the redirect can be changed and then both could be sorted out through disambig. Professor marginalia 16:59, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
