Thank you for supporting me in my request for adminship! It ended with a tally of 39/5/4, and I am now an admin. I'm glad to have earned the trust of the community, and I will make use of it responsibly. Of course, you can let me know of any comments or concerns you have.

With a million articles in front of me, I'd better get mopping.

You cannot revert what I have done. It is extremely balanced. I have made it more readable and I have put everyone point of view in this article. This is not vandalisim. Firmitas 17:46, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Roman salute

Roman salute: what looked like vandalism was in fact reversal of another anon's rant with personal attack (right in the article, against wikipedian's accounts) and false edit comments. mikka (t) 21:01, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar for Anti-vandalism!

[edit]
The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
This barn star is being awarded to you for your hard work at fighting vandalism on wikipedia. This is a difficult task that is often overlooked but is essential in this community! I was especially impressed that you managed to revert the blanked Subterranean Homesick Blues page in one minute flat. Keep up the great work! Datapharmer 00:21, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fark.com Article

[edit]

Related pages to this dispute: User talk:Haizum, User talk:tarrant84, Talk:Fark.com --ZsinjTalk

User Tarrant84 is really getting worked up about your reverts. I've been getting angry emails where he threatens to have my IP banned by an admin for one reason or another, which is funny because I haven't actually made any changes to the main article. I can forward you the email I received if you like. Haizum 16:55, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a little confused. All I did was express my POV on the discussion page for the sake of consensus; I never actually edited the main article. I'm wondering why Tarrant84 is challenging me directly on this issue when I have made no attempt to stop his edits other than express my disapproval on the talk page. Perhaps he has me confused with another editor? Haizum 17:26, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yikes. I thought I was allowed to delete my own comments, just not another user's. Sorry about that. Haizum 17:34, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's fine, I just like to preserve the pages as a whole, regardless of content. --ZsinjTalk 17:35, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the information. I suppose my account of what the Fark experience is like should be partially accepted as valid simply by virtue of the fact that it jives with what the original editor contributed, so well in fact that I was confused as that editor! It would be helpful to get more current and former Fark users to contribute to the discussion so we can remove some of the statements that even I can't support (such as Fark being anti-Jewish). I do believe that much of the timeout and abusive moderator information can be confirmed by other editors. Perhaps Fark will address this in an updated FAQ; we'll have to wait and see. Please see WP:NOT. Those dozens of blog links simply do not belong. In general, blog links do not belong on Wikipedia. They fail to meet WP:V. -- 22:43, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

Thank you!
Thank you for your support in my recent RFA. It passed 53/1/2 and I am now an administrator. I appreciate that some of you made exceptions to your usual requirements re length of service and so on because we've interracted positively in the past, or because of my credentials, so I will endeavour to use my new mop cautiously. I'm always open to feedback and gently constructive criticism. If you're not an admin and need some assistance do of course please let me know. Thanks again --kingboyk 00:23, 6 March 2006 (UTC) [reply]

P.S. If you are interested in The Beatles, User:Lar has asked me to tag on a little note advertising the creation of a new Beatles WikiProject that we are currently setting up. Please sign up and help.

Thanks for your vote on my RfA. It closed without consensus (22/11/8), but I understand the concerns raised. After I have more experience, I'll likely be up again someday, at which time I hope to have your support. --Christopherlin 17:44, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your RfA

[edit]

I think you'll make a great administrator, given a bit more time. In the highly unlikely event that no one nominates you in three months, please drop me a line. RfA's (IMHO) look better when someone nominates you. Ifnord 18:32, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bad luck (and this is long overdue), I'd have loved to see you succeed. I'm surprised there was lack of consensus. I guess you'll just have to take your opposition's words on board and keep on plugging away... See you around! haz (user talk)e 10:51, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for notifying this tag. Actually I did not know about this tag. I was searching but did not find on untagged images page. I think it should be there. Thank you, --08:04, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

How can we put forward a reply to you

[edit]

You sent me a message saying offensively that i had vandalised the encylopedia. I have not done that. I have not put any racist, bullying, wife beating views. Why are you so offensive. And every time i try and reply to you you threaten me again. You sent me a message with no explanation to what you were referring to, ut simply informing me to not vandlaise the encylopedia and then not to put "nonsese" on the encylcopedia. Why can't you see how offensive and bullying that is. I didn't even know you could send messages and then suddenley from out of the blue you send me a threat, with no explanation. You are a bully. I cannot see how i vandalised the thing in any way. But then you send me an e-mail with no explanation, and no chance of reply. I have not done any vandalism yet i am not able to reply to you. You should not be in admin if you take liberites to send people such an abusive and hurtful message without explanation. Will you ban me for answering back. Are you a bully. I should not be banned simply for trying to communicate with you in reply to an ofensive attention seeking message. I have other computers so don't think you can just destroy me. Are you like the type of people who join the police or become security guards just so they can bully people and pretend they have the law on their side. This message is written by Lonympics. This is not vandalism this is the only way i have of replying to you. Who do you think you are. I predict you had a political dissagreement and decided to missuse your power to tell me i had done something wrong. I know bullies often try to become message board moderators so they can bully people on the internet, did you only become an admin on this website so you could bully people you dissagree with. Don't think you can stop me just by bullying me. You seem eager to let people edit you site in a complimentrary ways but not to point out you have been a bully. This is not vandalising your page this is answering back to your bullying. It is not my fault if if other bullies will back your side straight away. I bet admins of wilpedia will back eachiother up like the police do. Tell me which article i had vandalised before you sent me the message. Tell me that. And don't be so offensive. Will i get banned without reply. If i do that just proves my pointa bout you. You were deeply offensive to me and yet expect me to act like three year old being told off, and not answer back. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lonympics (talkcontribs)

warnings

[edit]

I see you're pretty good at finding vandals for me to block, even if they're really obvious, please don't start at the test4 warning, try giving them a test3 before the last warning, warning templates actually work most of the time :). You could also insert template:bv in some cases... --Obli (Talk)? 17:18, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fark.com reversion war

[edit]

Hi Zsinj! I apologize for the delayed response. I am quite happy with the comprimise we have come to with the Fark.com page. From the beginning, I didn't feel Wiki was the appropriate source to post Fark criticisms, mainly because they are unverifiable. However, everytime we remove it someone uses the Wiki page to voice their personal opinions about the website. Again, your input and perspective is greatly appreciated.tarrant84 22:46, 13 March 2006 (UTC)tarrant84[reply]

Speedy Delete tags

[edit]

When you tag an article for deletion, even speedy deletion, as you did with Rising Dissent, please make a corresponding entry on WP:AfD. To do so, all you need to do is click the redlink created by the delete tag (I believe it says something like "you can vote on this here", with the "here" in red. When there is no corresponding entry on AfD, it is very easy for people to remove the tag (which they are not supposed to do before the issue is settled), which is precisely what the author of said article did. I don't know if you care enough to go back and retag it, but I thought I'd at least give you a heads-up for nextime.--Rockero 18:50, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I guess they only need an entry if the speedy deletion is contested--my bad.--Rockero 19:50, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for supporting / opposing / vandalising my RFA! The result was 71/3/0 and so I am now still a normal user / an administrator / indefinitely banned. Dear Mr Blanning, thank you for choosing the ACME Auto-thanker! Simply strike out the phrases that do not apply and tear off this strip at the indicated line to give all your supporters and detractors the personalised response they so richly deserve.

Thanks, I agree that slip ups happen sometimes, and I accept your apology. I, however, did not call you any name whatsoever. I am sorry if you thought I called you any name, but I did not. If you thought the title of my comment (Pig) was a name, it was the title of the article being modified. Please do more research in the future before accusing. Hi Zsinj, I've uploaded that image from a website. I'll try to contact them to get that kind of info. I uploaded the image when I wasn't that savvy on copyright matters. Afterwards I've restrained myself to pictures I've taken myself and uploaded them at commons. I'll try to find out what kind of copyright this particular image has and put it on speedy deletion myself if I can't reach some kind of agreement with the website, or I'm unable to contact them at all.
