Varra is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Al Ewing and artist Gerardo Sandova, the character first appeared in New Avengers vol. 4 #4 (December 2015).[1] Varra was a hybrid of Skrull and Kree descent.[2] She is a member of the Knights of the Infinite, a group of hybrids striving to bring the Kree and Skrull empires together.[3]

Varra debuted in New Avengers vol. 4 #4 (December 2015),[4] created by Al Ewing and Gerardo Sandoval.[5] She appeared in the 2020 Empyre: Aftermath Avengers #1 one-shot.[6]

Fictional character biography

Varra is one of the Knights of the Infinite.[7] This group of Skrull and Kree hybrids is tasked with uniting the Skrull Empire and the Kree Empire. She faced the extra-dimensional sorcerer Moridun,[8] and almost died during the battle before being rescued.[volume & issue needed] Hulkling later healed her using magic.[volume & issue needed]

Varra is mentioned by Nick Fury in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.[9] She later appears in the miniseries Secret Invasion, portrayed by Charlayne Woodard.[10] This version is a pureblooded Skrull and Fury's wife who impersonates Dr. Priscilla Davis.[11] She took the likeness of Dr. Priscilla Davis who was suffering from a congenital heart defect.[12] Varra assists Fury in his quest to negotiate peace between the Kree and the Skrulls.[13] She leaves Earth alongside him to embark on a S.A.B.E.R. station.[14]
