Vuong Xuan Nguyen (born May 7, 1980) is a journalist, social activist, ornamental plant expert, and rural development expert in Vietnam.[2] He is currently the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Rural Development Science, head of the Department of Culture and Development E-Magazine,[3] and chief of staff of the Hanoi Ornamental Plant Association, Director of the Institute of Art, Culture and Economics Vietnam.[4][5][6]
Biography
[edit]Vuong Xuan Nguyen was born in Quốc Oai district, Hanoi.[7] After graduating from the Banking Academy in 2002, he started working at the Center for Research on Conservation and Development of Ornamental Plants of Vietnam. In 2007, he was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Party Committee of the Central Agencies Bloc for his achievements in the movement to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's morality. In 2016, Vuong Xuan Nguyen was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for his contributions to the ornamental plant industry of Vietnam.[citation needed]
In 2002, he started his journalism career and collaborated with journalist Đỗ Phượng.[7] In 2017, journalist Do Phuong passed away,[8] Vuong Xuan Nguyen transferred to work at the Law and Life Newspaper,[9] the Nguoi Dua Tin online newspaper. In 2019, he collaborated with photographer Tran Tuan to publish the book General Vo Nguyen Giap.[citation needed]
Since 2020, he has been working at the Journal of Rural Development Science of Vietnam and holds the position of chairman of the board of Trustees and Editor-in-Chief.[7] During this period, he founded the Life and Development Forum to support the community.[citation needed]
In 2022, Vuong Xuan Nguyen was awarded the Commemorative Medal for the Cause of Vietnamese Journalism by the Vietnam Journalists' Association for his many contributions to the country's journalism industry.[10][11]
At the Hanoi Lotus Festival in July 2024, he unveiled the artwork "Portrait of Uncle Ho" made of lotus flowers on tempered glass.[12][13]
