Discussion
[edit]Could this bot also help maintain lists at Wikipedia:DELSORT? -- pb30<talk> 15:50, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Why yes! :-) I did look at that as well, but wanted to start small. First bot and all. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 15:54, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- I'd like to see the lists under Wikipedia:DELSORT, similar to the way Wikipedia:MILHIST does, but this probably isnt the place to discuss that :-) -- pb30<talk> 15:58, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Approved for trial. Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. Run it for a few days, just to iron out bugs and give us some sample edits. --ST47Talk 16:39, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Wow, that was fast. I somehow thought there would be days of discussion. Thanks! I guess I come back here in a few days when I have some edits I'm proud enough of to present as ready for prime time? --AnonEMouse (squeak) 16:43, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Out of curiosity, will this detect what page to put it on using keywords or a similair system? Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 02:24, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- That should be explained at User:AfdlBot - basically, it reads User:AfdlBot/Configuration which lists where and what Afds it should list. Don't run off to go modify that just yet, I'm still debugging. :-) But it has now made some edits (solely in its own user space!) that should show it partly working, check its contributions. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 19:57, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What's going on? --ST47Talk 14:45, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Sorry, I did some development, but got distracted a bit by other issues. I am still "workinig on it" in my mind, but can see why it doesn't look as active as it could be. It reads the Afd pages fairly well, but there is a bug reading categories, and I want it to read DRF and CFD pages before asking for it to be set free on an unsuspecting world. :-) If need be, I can tie off the loose ends and let it free partly complete in a couple of days, as that would still be better than nothing. Is there a definitive schedule I should keep to, in order to be considered actively under development? --AnonEMouse (squeak) 14:52, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Let it free, trial periods are meant for testing. From what I can see, it looks great, so give it around 50 edits or 5 days in the actual pages. Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 22:53, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Is there any update on the trial of this bot? — E talkbots 11:12, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Sorry, sorry. Got distracted with this and that. Just a few more days. 8-} --AnonEMouse (squeak) 13:39, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- No problem. Post your trial edit report back here and we can get the BRFA rolling again. — E talkbots 21:40, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- It's been 5 days - do you have an idea of the timeframe before it fully starts trial? It appears to be doing good so far. Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 23:47, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- {{OperatorAssistanceNeeded}} Any news with the trial? Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 21:41, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Things I didn't count on are taking far longer than I thought, and I haven't been able to work on the bot much at all for a while, I keep thinking that I'll be able to return to it soon, but not actually doing it. I don't know how procedure goes here; should it be removed from the list until I'm done with it, and then I'll resubmit? I won't mind if it's still OK for me to run the bot to edit solely within the User:AfdlBot page space. --AnonEMouse (squeak) 13:19, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Just keep it here. To make it official, Approved for trial (500 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. for testing purposes. Once testing is done, I will give another trial for non-userspace. Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 22:25, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The bot has made six trial edits as of this writing, the last being on the 16th of July. I understand that you haven't been able to work on the bot much; perhaps, for the sake of organization, this request should be expired? It may be reactivated at any time. — madman bum and angel 14:30, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
