Discussion
[edit]- Note: This bot appears to have edited since this BRFA was filed. Bots may not edit outside their own or their operator's userspace unless approved or approved for trial. AnomieBOT⚡ 11:47, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Interwiki bots are normally speedy approved: I can't do that because I'm a not a BAG member, but I can ask why is the bot already running without approval? That's against the rules. Rcsprinter (state the obvious (or not)) 12:39, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- It seems to have been running on many different wikis without global bot flag or approvals on each one. — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 12:48, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What interwiki.py options are you using? What namespaces does this affect? Does "supervised" mean you will check every edit? — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 12:48, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes it is true that bot edited many wikis without permission. Bot flag are requested in many wikis. But Now the bot is running only in approved wikis or that permitted for test edits! I went through the bot policies and understood the mistake that i have done. "supervised" in the sense, articles that is not new (Even new too.) and given new inter wiki on local wiki will be taken care by this bot. So it may be considered supervised. Once again, the bot stopped working on non flagged wikis. Thank you. --PsBot (talk) 16:01, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Note: This bot has edited its own BRFA page. Bot policy states that the bot account is only for edits on approved tasks or trials approved by BAG; the operator must log into their normal account to make any non-bot edits. AnomieBOT⚡ 16:04, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Automatic unsupervised: The bot makes edits automatically, which the operator does not constantly review
- Automatic supervised: The bot makes edits automatically, but the operator reviews them shortly afterwards
- Manual: The bot does not edit itself, instead all proposed edits are made by the operator
My question was about bot's operation mode. Is your bot "automatic supervised" as you indicated? Again, what interwiki.py options are you using? What namespaces does this affect? — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 16:17, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
