Almost There is the first studio album by the American Christian rock band MercyMe. Produced by Pete Kipley, it was released on August 14, 2001, by INO Records. After releasing six albums as an unsigned band, they decided to pursue a record contract because it became too difficult to sell albums, book shows, and manage themselves. The band was assigned to work with Kipley, who had not produced a major project before. Four songs on the album had previously appeared on their self-released albums; the rest were newly recorded songs. Critics have characterized the music on the album as contemporary worship and pop rock, with a more radio-friendly sound than the band's self-released albums.

An IP listing this non-existent topic brought it to my attention. It's an album and its two singles, an FA and two GAs, so it's complete. The main contributor gave a blessing to me starting this nomination, so let's make it official. igordebraga ≠ 14:43, 6 January 2023 (UTC) --igordebraga ≠ 14:43, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
- Comment Just wanted to comment as the main contributor here that I appreciate Igordebraga for noticing and starting this. Applying these articles for a good topic had totally slipped my mind (I got these articles to this status over the court of several years, with I Can Only Imagine (MercyMe song) being my first GA back in 2011), but the album and song are two of my favorite things I've written here, so I'm glad they have the opportunity to be a good topic - one of the few in the relatively niche genre of Christian music. - Support: The album and both singles, at GA or better, and there don't appear to be any live albums or tour associated with it. I wondered whether maybe it should have I Can Only Imagine (film), but it doesn't look like the film has been understood as particularly connected with the album. Looks good! -Bryan Rutherford (talk) 15:17, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
- Having seen the film, it is connected fairly exclusively to the single. I don’t believe the Almost There album is mentioned at all, and it omits “Bless Me Indeed” entirely, presenting “I Can Only Imagine” as the lead single for an unnamed debut album. If there were a potential topic in the future for “Imagine”, it would likely include the song, the film, Almost There, The Worship Project (the original album the song is from), and Bart Millard, but only 3/5 of those (song and album) are GAs at the moment.
