New York State Route 28
[edit]NY Route 28 joins the list of New York featured topic nominations, and again, replicating a similar topic in Michigan (M-28). This is about 3 years of work loaded into a 4 article FTC, and one considered for a long time. It is a co-nomination by User:TwinsMetsFan and I. This is also my first featured nomination of anything in 2011 so. :) Mitch32(20 Years of Life: Wikipedia 5:33) 10:13, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
Confirming my co-nomination. All four articles are of high quality, and I believe this collection of articles is truly worthy of the name "featured topic". – TMF 19:38, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
- Support - I cannot think of anything missing except for increasingly large overlap with the "non-naturally defined" topics: Wikipedia:Featured topics/State highways in Hamilton County, New York and Wikipedia:Featured topics/State highways in Warren County, New York. Nergaal (talk) 04:24, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- Coincidentally, that was also a point raised during M-28's FTC. It's stunning how many parallels there are between the two like numbered routes... In any event, if the overlap does become an issue, I'd rather see those topics get eliminated in favor of this one. That, of course, was also the approach taken during M-28's FTC to resolve the issue. – TMF 05:19, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- That's exactly my thinking also. Topics by highways instead of counties seems a lot more natural. Nergaal (talk) 16:49, 31 March 2011 (UTC)

- Support, but I'm just wondering if I've Just Begun (Having My Fun) should be included? you know, since it was included on the bonus CD for the In the Zone video release. Pancake (talk) 17:43, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hmmm.. I didn't see that. Maybe it should be included? I'm not sure though, it's a bonus track.. Novice7 (talk) 15:19, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- Looks like it was also available as a free download on the Wal-Mart edition of the album. Pancake (talk) 16:20, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- The intro says "and originally recorded for In the Zone." Since it is already GA, it might as well be included. Nergaal (talk) 01:22, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Wanderers F.C. honours
[edit]Although now forgotten by all except for football historians, the Wanderers dominated English football in the 1870s, winning five of the first seven FA Cup Finals. This topic includes the main article on the club and the articles on all five of their Cup Final victories. I realise this is a different format to existing FT/GTs on football clubs, but given the very different era in which they played, I don't think the "standard" format would work. Let me know your thoughts, anyway....... -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 17:21, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- How about changing the topic title to "FA Cup Finals won by Wanderers F.C." (or something much more elegant)? Adabow (talk · contribs) 19:13, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think this definitely needs to be piped like that, or else the topic is incomplete. Staxringold talkcontribs
- So done -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 20:46, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- Piping was the wrong term to use, as now that makes the link misleading. I would change the lead to "FA Cups won by Wanderers F.C.". Staxringold talkcontribs 20:47, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, my mistake, hopefully now fixed -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 20:51, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

- Why not name it Wanderers F.C. successes? Nergaal (talk) 23:08, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- Because they may have had successes other than winning FC cups. Also just noticed, a book needs to be created. Adabow (talk · contribs) 03:32, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
- Those successes would probably not be notable enough to be covered by articles though. Nergaal (talk) 05:15, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
- I have changed it to "Wanderers F.C. honours", as that's the term used in English football. They did not win any other honours as no other competitions existed in association football at the time. Will do the book thing later today when I have figured out how to do it........ -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 07:48, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Been working on this for a while, and now that all are GA, I believe the topic's all set. Season two will (hopefully) be coming up soon as well. — Hunter Kahn 01:46, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
- Support - I have reviewed two of these articles for GA nominations, and was impressed at their standard. As a collection I feel that this is a nice little nugget of information, presented well and written in a suitable manner. These four brothers competed as professional wrestlers, although obviously under different last names. All articles are listed as Good Articles, and the references are up-to-date. If a picture is necessary, there is one on the Yvon Cormier article, although it shows only one of the four brothers. --GaryColemanFan (talk) 21:52, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
- Just a little comment, but the GTC suggests there be a template interlinking all of the articles. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:50, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
- It seems redundant to me, as the articles are contain links to each other already. If anyone else agrees that a template should be added, though, I'm certainly willing to add it. GaryColemanFan (talk) 02:23, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

- I added a template. GaryColemanFan (talk) 05:53, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- I suggest moving Kay to the second column, so that there are only two cols. You also need to create a book and add an image. Adabow (talk · contribs) 00:43, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
- This has become quite the exercise in learning coding. Fortunately, someone adjusted the columns--I had already spent half an hour on them in the first place, so the help was greatly appreciated. I created a book, although I still don't understand what it is, and I added an image. GaryColemanFan (talk) 05:53, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- Support Seems complete. And by the way, a book is a collection of articles that can be downloaded as a PDF or ordered as a physical book. Adabow (talk · contribs) 03:11, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

- Question should Bobby and Rudy's articles be merged into the family one? It is not obvious to me why that would not be the case. Nergaal (talk) 07:12, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- No, they are both individually notable and meet GNG due to coverage of their individual careers. GaryColemanFan (talk) 16:25, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
Ahh, the waiting game sucks. Let's play Hungry Hungry Hippos! GaryColemanFan (talk) 22:47, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

The Time of Our Lives
[edit]All of material related to the EP is of GA status and, therefore, I believe the EP should be GT. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 23:48, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
- I am not super keen on having topics on EPs which contain mostly re-releases and remixes, but the first two songs do appear to be primarily part of the EP. Nergaal (talk) 00:15, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
- The EP is made of 7 songs, six original to the EP and one live. And a bonus track for the international version that was "The Climb". It is mainly original. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 00:21, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
- Support you are right. Nergaal (talk) 07:08, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- Support. The singles are GA's, that's what counts. I'm torn on The Climb, since it wasn't a single, nor was it on most versions of the EP (I'm assuming). However, since it's already a GA, I don't see the harm in including it. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:53, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

Really big, long-term topic. I hope you don't mind me flooding a little bit, but I'm too excited to pass this topic up. This is a topic of all of the articles on storms that existed outside of the normal hurricane season. They are meteorological outliers, for sure. It's the biggest topic nomination yet from the WPTC, so I hope you all find it acceptable! --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 23:00, 12 March 2011 (UTC)
- Alright, after thinking about it further (and reading WP:PRECISION), I moved Epsilon back to Hurricane Epsilon. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:44, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- Is there one missing storm? Nergaal (talk) 00:16, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think so. The topic should include all off-season storms that have articles. That said, there are several off-season storms without articles, but they either don't have the information or aren't otherwise notable enough. I mistakenly forgot to remove one article from the template, if that's what you were referring. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 00:23, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, per the concerns of another hurricane editor, I went ahead and included all known off-season storms in the template. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 00:56, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- Why is Hurricane Epsilon located as Meteorological history of Hurricane Epsilon? That doesn't seem to make much sense. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books}
- Unlike the other articles, which have a proper impact section along the lines of most other articles, Epsilson's is formatted as a meteorological article, such as Meteorological history of Hurricane Wilma. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:31, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
