I've resized the fonts (which were originally 100% anyway). As for the the Rockets season: some of them have not been made, so I just leave out what hasn't been made (similar to what was done with the other NBA seasons lists). Noble Story (talk • contributions) 05:07, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is not visual appealing to set font size to 100% since all items in cells are forced into two rows. I strongly suggest you changing it back to 90% per FL criteria #6. I don't think it looks any more "appealing" with smaller font, since I either can't see the text properly or have to zoom in on my browser every time. --Gman124 talk 23:48, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The only alternative is to resize the font back to 100% and set the width longer than the page. Readers would have to use scroll bar to see all column, though.—Chris! ct 00:05, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think there might be more obejections to doing that then the text size. the following line is from the table "Won NBA Western Conference First Round vs. Portland Trail Blazers, 3–1" (which is almost half the size of the table in normal text, at least on my computer). Surely you can't really expect that to lay out on a single line, in a table as big as on this list. Surely it will get split into two lines. --Gman124 talk 00:23, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • "In the Rockets debut season" - Rockets'
  • "But after drafting Elvin Hayes first overall in the 1969 NBA Draft," - Sentences do NOT start with BUT. Also, Hayes was drafted first in the 1968 draft.
  • What do Hayes, Malone, etc. have to do with the team's season records? There needs to be more correlation made. Also, discuss more about best/worst seasons, etc.
  • "After Hayes was traded, Moses Malone was acquired to replace him." - "After Hayes was traded, Moses Malone replaced him." - remove redundant wording
  • "MVPs" - you must state explicitly what an acronym means before using
  • "in his first year" - remove Easter Egg link per WP:PIPE
  • "They did not win their first championship until 1994, when Olajuwon led them to the championship, and 1995." - you have a linked year and an unlinked year; also, the last part of this sentence makes no sense. "And 1995" isn't a clause.
  • "from 1999–2003" - remove dash, replace with "to"
  • Many of the things in the key would be better explained using footnotes (see Philadelphia Phillies seasons for an example).
  • "4th *" - all symbols should be next to their number, not separated
  • Per WP:BOLDFACE, do not use bold text as an indicator in the table. Replace with a symbol or italics.
  • "adding the absolute difference in wins" - Explain or link absolute difference
  • "50 game" - 50-game
  • "The Western Division was renamed to Western Conference" - the Western Conference
  • You use W-L% in some tables and Win% in others. Be consistent.
  • References: use the same format for all dates, and the publisher of all Basketball-Reference.com links must be Sports Reference LLC. Also, one BB-Ref link is not capitalized like the others.
  • I'm not a big fan of the table being split up into so many pieces. I would rather see one cohesive unit instead of three small tables.

I've changed most of the trouble spots, which should be obvious. However, there are a couple of things I left:
  • "Many of the things in the key would be better explained using footnotes" Personally, I think it is neater to keep it in a table key. My personal preference, but I'll change it if you insist.
  • "I'm not a big fan of the table being split up into so many pieces. I would rather see one cohesive unit instead of three small tables." I've combined 2 tables, but the all-time record table I left separate. I think it looks better without tacking on to the main table.
  • "What do Hayes, Malone, etc. have to do with the team's season records? There needs to be more correlation made. Also, discuss more about best/worst seasons, etc." I've added in the lead about their best/worst seasons. Also, I think the correlation of Hayes, Malone, Olajuwon to their record is made clearly ("Malone won 2 MVPs, they advanced to the Finals", "He led them to...", "He took them...", etc).
  • "before being moved to" - before moving to
  • Table headers that are in the key should be bolded to show that they are headers.
  • Re-alphabetize your key.
  • Since the alphabetizing in the footnotes starts over, you need to have a header delineating the section changes (lead, table, etc.).
  • Navbox: "San Diego/Houston Rockets seasons" box does not currently link to this article. Change the title to link here or remove navbox.

  • He also took the Rockets to the NBA Finals in 1981, but they were defeated in six games by the Boston Celtics. However, only two years later, the Rockets won a franchise-low 14 games. -- The however doesn't cope well here because when however is used it, it is used to transition to two opposing statements or views, and these both have negative views.
  • I would like to see in the lead state how many seasons overall there have been for Houston, and the most recent season (even though it may be bad, it still has to be mentioned to keep the prose up to date)
  • After Hayes was traded, Moses Malone replaced him. -- this was when?
  • Malone won two Most Valuable Player awards during his time in Houston, and he led the Rockets to the 1978 conference finals in his first year with the Rockets. -- the last mention of the Rockets can just be "them"
Seasons
  • I don't know, but since the lead has the seasons formatted in a single yr format like "1996", I feel that the column in the table should have it formatted like that, or vise versa for consistency purposes.

I think I've got your comments corrected. However, regarding years: I do single years in the lead, because the things they mention happen i only one year. In other words, the draft is only in 1968, the finals only in 1994, and so on. The whole seasons, however, go over two years. Hence, two years in the table.   • "did not reach the playoffs again".
  • "In their most recent season" 2008–09 is now the most recent season, so add "completed" or something similar to the sentence.
  • "Their overall record is 1723–1669." Readers may not know what this means. Use the words "wins" and "losses".
  • Couldn't you link "Games behind" in the key so that you won't have to note how the stat works?
  • No need to have Category:Houston Rockets, as you already have Category:Houston Rockets seasons.
