Quality photo of a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress photographed in 2019. The B-17 is a World War II heavy bomber. A total of 12,731 aircraft were produced, 45 are currently surviving: [1] and 9 are operational. This photo shows serial number 44-83872, manufactured in 1945 and nicknamed Texas Raiders, in flight in 2019. This aircraft was destroyed recently at the 2022 Dallas airshow mid-air collision.
