- Reason
- I believe that Hurricane Igor meets the criteria of a Featured Picture because it captures a monster hurricane that proved to be the most destructive hurricane to hit Newfoundland on record at peak intensity.

- Oppose -- An impressive picture, but the scanning artifacts (near the top left corner) kill the nomination imo. Alvesgaspar (talk) 23:30, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
- Is there anyway to fix these these lines? -- TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk) 23:34, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
- No, AFAIK, unfortunately. HurricaneFan25 14:05, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

- Oppose Banding is not all that impressive. HurricaneFan25 14:05, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
- That's just not true at all, Igor has some of the best banding features seen in a strong Category 4 hurricane in this image. -- TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk) 15:10, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
- The banding on the east is brilliant, the banding on the west is dull. HurricaneFan25 15:32, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
- The hurricane cannot help that. :P -- TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk) 15:33, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

- Oppose - I don't think it adds much to the featured pictures we already have of TC's. That view is most like Rick and Gafilo, and I think both of those are more impressive. Therefore I feel it fails criteria 3. Of the images in Igor's article, I believe this is the most striking. Since the storm was the strongest of the season, I suppose you could argue that the image chosen is the most important, but I feel that its impact in Newfoundland negates that (since it was just an ordinary strong hurricane). ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:53, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
