- For that, we'd need evidence in third-party published reliable sources that he meets the relevant Wikipedia notability guidelines. From a quick search, there is this [1] and this [2] but I'm not sure they are enough to justify an article. And if they were, we'd need someone to write it - we are volunteers here, and don't produce articles to order (there is Wikipedia:Requested articles, but the list for the Arts and entertainment/Film, radio and television section is huge already). Of course, if you can find the sources, and were confident that they were sufficient to pass the notability guidelines, you could write the article yourself - see Wikipedia:Your first article. - User:Arielluria created a later deleted article at Jaroslav Gebr in 2007. It only contained this:
- "Credited on 1989 episode of Columbo (Murder, A Self Portrait) to have painted all the art, including the portrait of Lieutenant Columbo shown at the very end of the episode.
- According to IMDB he was also an artist for movies: The Sting (1973), Dark Shadows (1991), Sixth Sense (1999), and others."

Help:Cite errors/Cite error ref no input
[edit]I have created a page on Caroline Freeman, school principal in Dunedin and Christchurch, New Zealand.
I appear to have entered, incorrectly, a reference to Caroline Freeman's will. This is held at Archives New Zealand, Christchurch. In the will, Caroline makes Helene Cross her trustee and sole beneficiary. Israel attacks to Iran Or Israel Cyber attacks to Iran
[edit]There are some articles about Cyber attacks to Iran by Israel and USA,
many source such as this reliable sources ( U.S. officials ) confirmed that Israel Intelligence service ( Mosad) is teams with terror group to kill Iran's nuclear scientists. NBC NEWS
According to above articles and many reliable sources in News agencies ,Can I make an article about Israel attacks to Iran ? Do this article pass Wikipedia standards? Or can I make an article about Israel's cyber attacks to Iran?

- If there are multiple reliable sources that discuss the subject as a subject (not you cobbling a bunch of similar things together) then potentially it is a viable article. Correct use of Wiktionary interwiki
[edit]In the phishing article there are three wiktionary interwiki links which may not belong there. MOS:LINK#Overlinking_and_underlinking says: If there is no appropriate Wikipedia article, an interwiki link to Wiktionary could be used. Spear phishing redirects to phishing because there s no specific article on that topic, but the linked wiktionary article does not tell more than Phishing#List of phishing types tells.
So should those wiktionary links be removed or should they be moved to a see also section ? -- Juergen 178.200.29.147 (talk) 12:51, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
- I removed the wiktionary links. As the MOS says, a link to wiktionary may be used if there is no encyclopedia article. In this case, phishing is the encyclopedia article on the various types of phishing. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:58, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

How do I request an IBAN?
[edit]I have asked a question on the Help Desk about this recently and understand that IBAN requests have to be put to AN/I. I also understand the conditions imposed by an IBAN. However, I do not know how requests should be framed (e.g. what sort of diffs are needed) and wondered if there was anywhere I could look up previous IBAN requests to see how this is done, other than trawling through the AN/I archives. ~ P-123 (talk) 15:09, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

- @Enekozar: Hi Enekozar. Yes, CC-By is compatible with our licenses. However, you still must provide attribution to the source of the text. Not doing so would be plagiarism. Word Count Template?
[edit]On some noticeboards there are requirements that statements be under a certain size, typically 500 words. Is there a template that does a word count to make it easy to see if you are over the limit? --Guy Macon (talk) 16:53, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
- See Phab:T85376 as I think this is something that should be done by the software. That ticket needs more input from other users on how to count things that are transcluded from templates or whatnot. — {{U|Technical 13}} (e • t • c) 17:14, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

- Yes, there are many pages that count cut-and-pasted words, and in fact the instructions at the top of Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case lists one such page, plus of course most word processors and text editors do word counts. Alas, if you look at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case#Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 you will see that multiple participants have exceeded the arbcom 500-word limit. I think it would be useful to be able to wrap a statement in a template that displays the count of words between template top and template bottom. Counting either the displayed words or the wikimarkup (I agree with Technical 13's comment[4] that there is no need to account for transclusions) would do nicely. --Guy Macon (talk) 17:53, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

- It could probably listed as an external link in a directly relevant article (such as Economy of the Seychelles). See WP:EL for guidance. As an external link you would need to specify the URL where the file is hosted. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 20:37, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Sirswindon: Special:Contributions/Sirswindon shows the file is actually called File:Economic study of the Seychelles completed in 1965 by futuologist Donald Prell.pdf. Are you Donald Prell who supposedly wrote the original text? If you only scanned it then you are not the copyright holder and cannot release it with a license unless the original text has a compatible license. PrimeHunter (talk) 21:55, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

What to do

- What we do is inform whoever is blanking the article that they need to read Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, and then start an AfD. We do not delete articles on request. AndyTheGrump (talk) 21:18, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

- But the point is... when cluebot reverted, it inserted undereferenced claims into this BLP. That's bad...

- You write that, when ClueBot reverted, it inserted under-referenced claims into a BLP. "That's bad." That doesn't make sense. ClueBot is a bot, not a human editor. Anyway, ClueBot's revert was not a false positive. The article had been improperly blanked, and blanking is not the proper method of dealing with BLP content disputes. the BLP noticeboard is a reasonable suggestion, but there hasn't been any attempt so far to discuss on the article talk page. Twinkle Bug Reporting

The page history of Hari Singh Nalwa (Scientist) starts with User:Hari Singh Nalwa (Scientist), and that's the user Twinkle notified.[5] PrimeHunter (talk) 22:21, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
::But that isn't a user. There is no user account User:Hari Singh Nalwa (Scientist). It is a page in user space that is not associated with a user account. The page was actually created by User:Ukvariar. I then moved the page from user space into draft space. The originator then moved the page to article space. User:Skamecrazy123, as you note, then nominated the page for speedy deletion. The notice went onto the talk page of the non-existent user, not the user who created the article. Another editor contested the speedy deletion and removed the speedy tag. I then nominated the article for deletion via AFD. Once again, Twinkle put the notice on the page of the non-existent user. I manually copied the notice to the talk page of the real user. There is a problem. It is subtle; it may only happen due to weird preconditions. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:31, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
- You are correct. That account made one edit, in 2011, to create a BLP that reads like a resume. Notifying the editor who promoted the page into article space was an appropriate courtesy, not a requirement. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:36, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
