Images of women in STEM edit-a-thon @ Art.Science.Gallery. / Austin, TX
In conjunction with "Go Ahead and Do It," an art exhibit featuring portraits of women in the STEM disciplines, the Art.Science.Gallery. in Austin, Texas is hosting an Ada Lovelace Day-themed edit-a-thon on October 13, 2014. The primary goals of the event are to teach participants how to add images to Wikimedia Commons (where Wikipedia images live) and to to add images of women in science to the pages of Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. These images may be artworks such as painted portraits, or they may be photographs. We will go over the process of finding images with the appropriate licensing and adding images to Wiki pages so that it becomes second nature for all participants.
