Seamless Astronomy Wikipedia Edit-a-thon @ the Center for Astrophysics / Cambridge, MA
On Feburary 18, the Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is hosting an astronomy-themed edit-a-thon. The primary goal of the event is to improve existing astronomy and astrophysics articles and to add images to the pages of Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons.

  • Date: Thursday, February 18, 6pm to 9pm EST
  • Venue: Center for Astrophysics, John G. Wolbach Library Collaboration Space, 60 Garden St., Cambridge, MA 02138
  • Host: The event will be facilitated by Maia Weinstock of the New England Wikimedians and Phoebe Ayers of the MIT Libraries.
  • Cost: Free.
  • Twitter hashtag: #cfawiki
  • Participants: The event is open to established members of the astronomy and astrophysics community. First-time Wikipedia editors are particularly encouraged to attend.
  • Etherpad: https://etherpad.wikimedia.org/p/seamlessastro Remote/online participants may send in questions via this link and a facilitator will reply when available.
  • What to bring: Laptops and power cords. Please also be sure to create a Wikipedia account prior to the event.
  • Registration: All participants must RSVP through the registration page. Wikimedians may also submit their usernames below, but should not bypass the Google doc registration.
