List of best-selling Latin albums

Another major Latin music list, this time on Latin albums. I plan to nominate this for FL after getting List of best-selling Latin music artists promoted to FL. I could use any advice for this article.

Hi Erick, thanks for messaging me about this, I'll provide some initial thoughts:

• I think this is going to be a very difficult (if not impossible) article to get up to FL status. Its main problem is its inclusion criteria. Similar lists (such as List of highest-grossing films or your List of best-selling Latin albums in the United States) have an organisation that tracks the numbers in the list (e.g., Box Office Mojo in the first case and Billboard in the second). Wikipedia then cites this organisation as a reliable source, and that essentially defines the inclusion criteria for the list. List of best-selling Latin albums doesn't seem to have an organisation like that, and consequently the albums that are included are just whichever ones that Wikipedia has thought to include, which brings it very close to original research. How do we know that there aren't any albums missing? The last time I remember an article like this being nominated at FLC was List of best-selling music artists, and it was brought up there that its inclusion criteria was basically original research – I'm afraid that a similar criticism might be raised for this list too.
• The lead image needs alt text.
• Per MOS:TITLEABSENTBOLD, "Latin music" doesn't need to be bolded in the opening sentence.
• The lead's pretty long – you could probably reduce it by a third and it would still be an appropriate length.
• The use of colour to indicate soundtracks, live albums, etc. currently violates MOS:COLOUR, because the colour is the only method used to communicate that information. If you add symbols like, say, † or ‡ then the article would then meet MOS:COLOUR.
• Personally, I don't see any need to split the list across three separate tables, especially when one of the tables only has one row in it. If you combine them all into one, then readers would be able to, for example, sort all the Luis Miguel albums together.
• Artists need to sort under their surnames, rather than their first names.
• The cells in the Genre column with more than one genre are left-aligned, whereas everything else in the table is centre-aligned.

@Erick: The problem is that the list has been created by combining material from multiple different sources, which does count as original research. In this instance it means that a reader can't be certain that the list is comprehensive, because how can they be sure that Wikipedia has checked every single possible source? For example, Sale el Sol by Shakira apparently topped the Croatian music charts, but its certified sales from that market aren't listed in the "Total certified copies" column – is that because the album didn't achieve certification in Croatia, or because Wikipedia just hasn't included them in the table yet? A reader wouldn't be sure. Similarly, this source says that Luis Miguel has sold over 13 million copies of Romance – does that mean that, according to our list, Romance is actually the best-selling Latin album ever, not Momentos? If there were a reliable publisher that had already written a list of the best-selling Latin albums, then we could just cite that and it wouldn't be original research, but I've just had a look and I can't find anything.

• As for what prose could be removed, I think you could get rid of the fifth paragraph, because it's just about the American and Canadian certifications, even though the article cites certifications from dozen of different countries. Personally, I'm not sure that you really need the last paragraph either, where you talk about how the table is sorted.
• "At least 2 million copies sold". This header would probably be better as "Best-selling albums", as you did in List of best-selling Latin albums in the United States.
• Some of the artists aren't sorting correctly (i.e., Luis Miguel, Paulina Rubio, Julio Iglesias for Un Hombre Solo, and Alejandro Sanz for Viviendo Deprisa).
• Thalia -> Thalía (notice the i)
• There's a problem with the archive URL in reference 245 – try replacing its spaces with %20, which might fix things.
• ¿Donde Jugaran Los Niños? should probably sort under D – {{Sort|Dónde Jugarán los Niños?|''[[¿Dónde Jugarán los Niños?]]''}} should work instead.
