I got this article to GA status years ago and have been expanding and cleaning it up recently. I would appreciate it if it would be looked over before I take it to FAC.

Mostly minor comments and nitpicks below.

Lead:

  • Suggest linking subfamily.
  • Explain and/or link "mya".

Etymology:

  • Unless it's in a taxobox, I recommend using "and colleagues" or similar instead of the more technical et al..
  • Explain/link "endemic".

Taxonomy, phylogeny and genetics:

  • As above, suggest linking "subfamily" and explaining "mya", or simply writing "million years ago".

Appearance and anatomy:

  • Suggest linking "canines".

Ecology and behaviour:

  • Missing comma in "honey, bird eggs insects and small vertebrates".
  • Link and explain "oestrous".
  • "When an orangutan reaches the age of two, its climbing skills" - missing "years" I assume.

Intelligence and cognition:

  • Link Francine Patterson.

Interactions with humans:

  • Looks good to me, no comments.

Taxobox & images:

  • Link "extant" in taxobox.
  • Link John Gerrard Keulemans.
  • Suggest linking "arboreal" on first caption mention.
  • "Wild orangutan in the Danum Valley (Sabah, Malaysia, Borneo island)" - locations linked in main text should also be linked here.
  • Link "bird eggs" as in text.
  • Link "Borneo".
  • Typo: Bukit Tigapulu should be Bukit Tigapuluh; also suggest linking it.
  • On a general note, I've noticed that all images on the article are staggered to the right, when they should preferably be alternating, with some of them "looking" towards the text as suggested by MOS:IMAGES. (See other ape GAs and FAs like lemur and chimpanzee for examples).

That's all from me, overall a solid and well written article IMO. Feel free to take my comments with a grain of salt; I don't usually review extant taxa so not entirely sure to what extent the conventions differ. ▼PσlєοGєєкƧɊƲΔƦΣƉ▼ 17:02, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I did most of them. LittleJerry (talk) 14:32, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
