Film roles

I've finally had the opportunity to watch, "Good Old Boy: A Delta Boyhood." The closing credits never said who played Robert Lee Evans, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Tucker or Mr. Dewey. Robert Lee Evans' rank also wasn't specified. How is Bubba's last name spelled? Is Billy's last name Rose or Rhodes? What kind of dog was Skip? What was the animal actor's name? The cast list is incomplete for character names, but Robert Lee Evans = Dulé Hill. You might be able to work out some of the others by clicking on the other names and looking at photographs. Who wants to be a Millionaire

I have always been concerned about the " Call a friend" lifeline of Who wants to be a Millionaire

Most of the times it is answered in the first ring

My question is What prevented a would be person to call to watch the program and be in front of a computer to look for answers for the question, unless, of course, the program was pre recorded

It is pre-recorded. The friend is sitting at home at a specific time waiting to be called, while the show is being taped. And there is nothing preventing them from looking it up, or asking someone else in the room, which you can often hear. Adam Bishop (talk) 21:01, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's not only pre-recorded, it's edited. Unless the rules have changed since the early days, contestants get unlimited time to think about their answers, but they only show enough to be interesting. If someone answered on the sixth ring they'd probably edit out five rings, unless the contestant said something interesting during those rings. --Anonymous, 03:34 UTC, February 11, 2008.

Most tv shows are prerecorded and edited these days. (Bear in mind they have to fit perfectly into a specific time slot.) However, it appears there have been a couple of cases of "Phoney a Friend" syndicates googling for answers: see Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Actually, this started happening in the Australian edition a lot (searching on the internet) in around 2005 and they were very obvious about it. They banned this sometime in 2005 or 2006 although how it was enforced I don't know. In any case the show stopped when the host disappeared, and it has now apparently come back but the life-line friends are kept in a studio room to preclude the practice.
