DisneyMania 7

new information has been announce regarding the actual release of this compilation, previous information has all been fake until now -Kevin87 (talk) 09:12, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Question: Can you show the new information that has been announced? Arbitrarily0 (talk) 13:51, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Kevin87 - http://tommy2.net/content/?p=12454 and amazon.com also had the artwork and release date when I created the request. (wasn't sure how else to answer this) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kevin87 (talkcontribs) signed by Arbitrarily0 (talk) 16:28, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Indiana Militia Corps

WP:N -JP419 (talk) 14:32, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

  • I opposed the deletion of this page on the grounds that there was recent coverage (notability) of the organization. I tested to see if the same argument for deleting "Indiana Militia Corps" would be used consistently with another, "Michigan Militia", which it wasn't. Because of the apparent double standard regarding the treatment of the articles, I am asking that "Indiana Militia Corps" be undeleted. I mentioned on the talk page that additional notability was likely forthcoming, but those that opposed my plea summarily moved to delete. Within the category, this organization has notability equal to the other, and much greater notability than other militia groups still listed in other articles on the subject of militia. I will add additional documentation as I acquire it. JP419 (talk) 14:32, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
This appears more to be an argument you might advance at WP:Deletion review. I can userfy the article and if you can resolve the concerns raised at AFD, you can put it back into mainspace, but at this venue we don't simply overturn AFDs that were closed as delete. –xenotalk 14:41, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Sacred microdistillery

previous deletion has been on the grounds of NOTABILITY, and there is now a substantial body of new press coverage, amongst other NOTABILITY reasons such as being the only vacuum distillery in London, that should be considered to overcome the NOTABILITY hurdle - see also Sipsmith, as an example of a distillery article that I started, that didn't get deleted -Beefeaterdrinker (talk) 21:36, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

List of Ultimatrix aliens.

The reasons I wish for List of Ultimatrix Aliens to to be undeleted are, Most of the aliens were confirmed to be in the new series Ben 10 Evolution. When the series is released the aliens on the article can be edited or deleted if they are not true. We cannot put the new aliens on List of Omnitrix aliens because the Ultimatrix is a completly different device. It simply wouldnt make sense to put the new aliens on the List of Omnitrix Aliens article. These are my reasons for List of Ultimatrix Aliens to be undeleted. Please consider these reasons. Please undelete List of Ultimatrix Aliens. -Red-dragomn1 (talk) 04:03, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Fir-Tex

I have not seen any discussion about the reason for deletion, and still can not find it, sorry I am new to this. I would like to rewrite adapt the article using tips from other contributors as this fabric will probably mean a revolution in sports and the medical world. This is text that will not be used in the article of course. As Major sports teams and individuals in the world are already using the textile as well as humans with illnesses such as MS, chronic pains and arthrose with tremendeous results I think this is a worthy article for Wikipedia if written correctly. Anthony Chidiac

Notable Person

1. Article is well referenced (3rd time around, took a few shots by previous editors)- this revision cited sources "The Age", "Herald Sun", "CNN", "Channel Nine", "Dave & Kim", "Today" "Hansard", "Government Publications" etc. etc.

2. AfD had a general consensus of "cleanup" than delete.

3. Article in its current edit form has been on wiki for two years without any adverse enquiries or problems. Conversely, if someone had a problem with it, then debate should have been raised in the articles discussion page first, especially since article has been available for so long.

4. Claims as "Promotional" unsubstantiated - subject of article is in a different industry now - has nothing to gain by being referenced in wiki.

5. Main claim ("Notability") substantiated - he was clearly the first to create 1) the modern day live webcast and 2) he created the code to demonstrate that Recording AND Editing a DVD in Real Time is possible - a sentiment that was shared and published by majors Panasonic, Toshiba, Pioneer, JVC etc (The RDVDC Council) unanimously, and demonstrated at the Launch of Windows XP in Las Vegas by Bill Gates in 2001. The DVD Recorder, available in many consumers homes today, was the device made by the members of the RDVDC following the presentation of the concept at the O/S Launch. These devices use the java code invented by this guy.

6. Due to some reference being updated as articles have gone pay-per-view, aFd was initiated without enquiry in article discussion. I can add links to pay per view articles that substantiate these claims clearly.

7. I've really done a lot of work to piece together the multitude of independent references in this article. It was painstaking piecing it all together, and I was about to move forward and write my second article on the digital era in multimedia, but I feel rather disappointed that such a well resourced and referenced article gets the chop even though its been here for a very long time in wiki time! Give me a break please. -Cafejunkie (talk) 09:11, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

The Wonder of It All (2007 film)

Lisa Robertson (television)

The article was deleted because it was supposedly a paraphrase of her QVC page, and a non notable biography. There is a lack of a properly referenced body of work. If her bio is going to be deleted, then a lot of the biographies should be deleted. She's a well known and very popular shopping channel host for QVC and a former Miss Tennessee(Miss America pageant). Cowboy Logistics

People have asked me to explain the term and the origins of it so many times that I actually took the time to provide a wiki entry to it. This is a genuine question that I answer often and have answered often for the LAST 10 YEARS. I figure the purpose of a wiki is so that I don't have to continue to answer the same question, and provide a location in which someone can search for the answer online. The phrase is so popular that is has been put into national advertisement for a gun company. http://olegvolk.net/gallery/d/34387-2/ammo_belt_7430.jpg. Please undelete the article so that I do not have to constantly answer the question as to the origin of the phrase. -Twoblink (talk) 09:37, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Actually, the purpose of this wiki is to be an encyclopedia, and part of the rules of this encyclopedia is that topics need to show notability. If you'd like, we can move a copy to User:Twoblink/Cowboy Logistics, and you can add sources that show notability (being used in an advertisement isn't going to be enough).--Fabrictramp | talk to me 01:24, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

This topic has far reaching interest in the field of digital photography. Just because you can find no reference for it elsewhere on the web does not warrant its deletion from Wiki. Here's a link to Digital-Photography-School.com, and how it is used throughout that site, in 22 articles.[1] -71.214.172.80 (talk) 18:08, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. The rationale for the deletion was "no reliable sources demonstrating that anyone outside of a single forum contributor uses this neologism; no verifiability", so improving on this point might help avoid deletion in the future. Henrik_Flyman

This is an artist, composer, producer and multi instrumentalist that has been active since 1992 with about 10 album releases and tours around the world. He is frequently featured in media (radio, magazines, ezines and occasional TV). The page has been around for a long time (and I have been helping with info) but it was deleted by Jclemens because he meant it didn't add anything that other band pages didn't already mention. I wrote him and told him that it at least (as far as I could remember) told about one album guest appearance that no other page mentioned + that it was an important page to link several bands and albums together through Henrik Flyman's name. It is normal for official people to have a Wiki page in their own name (people search for such pages - and that's where new info can be added). He ignored me for 4 days, then refused to undelete it and told the reason to be that I didn't ask him nicely enough (which I did, since I'm not a rude person). I don't want to waste more time begging him to keep valuable information on Wikipedia. This is a page that I know has been used frequently by media and others, so therefore I will ask (someone else) kindly again for undeletion. If the page isn't good enough (which I can't understand) than I suggest that you improve it rather than deleting it. That's what makes Wikipedia great. Windrush School

Wikipedia has deleted the article on Windrush School (in El Cerrito, CA) twice for "blatant copyright infringement." I assume your administrators think it is a copyright infringement because the text comes from the Windrush School Web site. However, I (the Communication Coordinator at Windrush School) wrote the Web site text so consequently Windrush owns the text. I assume that Wikipedia would agree that is Windrush owns the text it can use it for whatever use it would like, including a wiki. As a Windrush employee who wrote the Web site text I am requesting the wiki for Windrush School be restored. If you have questions about this you can contact me at sworthington@windrush.org. The reasons for this deletion are just lies, and it seems the deleter has a political beef with some articles this author has written (he says the first op-ed is just "a letter to the editor"). This article has been up over 7 years. The subject is a journalist who has been published in all the newspapers listed, some quoted below, has questioned dozens of famous people, and has +100,000 hits on Google. This article should be restored and locked against deletion.

Right, but the "issues" are obviously untrue, if you look at the links. This was done by Jclemens, who brags of deleting 14,000 articles, and is obviously out of control.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.252.25.175 (talkcontribs)

Your best bet is to add independent, reliable sources to the article. Links to his own site aren't independent of the subject.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:29, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

Lloyd Bryan Adams

1. There is the extensive imdb record

2. Lloyd Bryan Adams is one of the founders of the cable network Extreme Sports Channel

2. Lloyd Bryan Adams is one of the founders of the cable network Extreme Sports Channel

3. Stating that the receiving of a Telly Award [10] is insignificant is laughable...

4. The weak delete comment stating that a producer is more business than creative... is not a very informed statement, george lucas is a producer... is he not creatively involved in the process??There are many roles that said producer can take, in the very wiki article referring to producer Film producer it clearly states, " A film producer or movie producer is someone who creates the scenes and conditions for making movies. The producer initiates, co-ordinates, supervises and controls matters such as fund-raising, hiring key personnel and arranging for distributors. The producer is involved throughout all phases of the film-making process from development to completion of a project."

Specifically this character has proven notability, I believe there is sufficient information regarding this and can supply more.. I missed the previous argument. -Loganis (talk) 16:53, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

The subject is now a published author in English, French, German, Portuguese and Croatian with the book, "Shaman's Wisdom". He is also the object of a recently published biography by Nomi Sharron (independent secondary source): "Tony Samara: v. 1 and 2: The Making of a Modern Shaman... and Beyond". fillanypdf

I cannot find a reason in the deletion log. It was proposed in the deletion discussion that the site was not notable. However, during the discussion more information was added showing coverage by Kim Komando, coast to coast radio DJ with an entry on Wikipedia, by Lifehacker, that has an entry on Wikipedia, and also by a review in a newspaper's online content. So if it has coverage by 2 entities that are notable enough to be in Wikipedia that would indicate that this site is notable. Therefore I ask you to consider this new information and undelete the article. -Raduser101 (talk) 15:44, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Mingi

the article was improperly deleted as "patent nonsense" yet it was well written and the phenomenon of mingi is well documented (see the film The Hamar and Karo Tribes: The Search for Mingi' 'http://ffh.films.com/id/1572/The_Hamar_and_Karo_Tribes_The_Search_for_Mingi.htm and the apparent reason for deletion as per the comments was denial based on national pride -Wrotesolid (talk) 21:59, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Actually, the article was not deleted as "patent nonsense" -- that request was denied. However, it was deleted as a proposed deletion, with the reason "Unverified, as of now. The links don't corroborate assertions in the article; is not notable without the sources". I've restored it as a contested prod, but I'd suggest you add some better references to avoid having the article taken to WP:AFD. HTH.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 22:37, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Amaxus

Apparently the article was deleted because it wasn't 'notable'. The product is mentioned on numerous respected third-party websites, is used by international clients (including Eidos, Ironman, BBC), has been nominated for awards, and has more coverage than other Content Management Systems that DO have a listing on Wikipedia. The previous article was live on Wikipedia for months, without alteration, before deletion. The product has been in existence for almost 10 years. -Spxdcz (talk) 14:03, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Also, see the Discussion page for Amaxus for further notable third-party websites mentioning the product.--Spxdcz (talk) 14:09, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Actually, someone's just deleted it, so you can't see the Discussion page any more! Argh! Either way, it's certainly more notable than 80% of the other content management systems that DO have an entry on Wikipedia. --Spxdcz (talk) 14:49, 15 February 2010 (UTC)

Euro Ice Hockey Challenge

This page was PRODded under the claim that the subject does not have notability and it is an orphan page. Actually it has 5 interwiki links (de, fr, it, pl and sv) which usually asserts a good notability, 2 articles and 10 other pages linking to it, "153 pages". on the International Ice Hockey Federation website itself, and otherwise 32 800 hits on "Google". for what it means. It even has a "category on commons". I'd say it requires at least an AfD. The article was indeed quite poor (hence a stub), I'll expand it if it is restored. -Place Clichy (talk) 17:28, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
