Looking at the two versions, the English version has a more concise "Format" section that encompasses what the Japanese version covers in Rules and Special Rules. Also, the english version only links to pages on the individual Iron Chefs instead of listing them in the main article (something someone over on the ja wikipedia should consider).

There are a few sections that seem to be unique to the Japanese version including:

  • 影響 (Influence) which explains all the new food items that are available in Japanese's supermarkets due to their appearance on Iron Chef.
  • 関連書籍 (Related Books) which is a publication list for books based on the show

All in all, the English version looks like a complete translation to me, though my command of written Japanese is fairly limited. Burzmali 13:43, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am interested in providing a translation for this article, but it may be inappropriate for the English-language article because it describes in great detail the individuality of the styles from the Japanese iron chefs (Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese) but this is irrelevant on the American version where the iron chefs were basically taken from Food Network's stock of available talent + Cat Cora, and they have no prevailing genre except for Morimoto and Mario Batali.
The better question is, maybe, do they need to be disparate articles because of their stark contrasts in execution between Japan and America, or does the requestor want the full Japanese article translated for the English article Okipatrick 05:16, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
