Description
[edit]A WikiProject to create, organize, maintain, and improve the various articles relating to the Operating System Android. This could be made as a task force to WikiProject Google However I feel it would do better alone. Going to reproposal this as the 2013 one is dead. Most Android related articles needs to be improved, like Galaxy Nexus, and Samsung Galaxy A11. I believe this WikiProject will be active. SMBMovieFan (talk) 10:24, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion
[edit]What sort of articles do you expect that would be covered in WikiProject Android that can't be adequately covered by WikiProject Telecommunications, WikiProject Technology, or WikiProject Google? What measures will you take to ensure that this new WikiProject doesn't go down the same fate as the 2013 one?
You are welcome to revive WikiProject Android instead of proposing a new WikiProject entirely. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 17:06, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Wikiproject Android actually never was made. I reproposal this as the 2013 one never got made. It could be a task force of Google, tho. SMBMovieFan (talk) 18:26, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I personally don't feel a new WikiProject is necessary. Technology is an area on Wikipedia where there are not many active editors involved, so I'm doubtful you will get enough support, let alone on Android-related articles only (an even smaller circle of editors). I could be wrong though. And if there really is a need for a means of collaboration, a task force under Wikipedia:WikiProject Google would suffice (the Project itself isn't very active these days, again echoing my participation concern); a WikiProject seems overkill. - I don't think this is true. We have articles on every possible, popular mobile phone created, there are editors who devoted to the coverage of mobile technology on Wikipedia. I don't know if there are enough of them to sustain a new Task Force but it would help if you made a post on the Google and Telecommunications WikiProject's talk pages inviting interested editors from signing up or at least commenting here. - Already did. SMBMovieFan (talk) 22:38, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Most of those articles were created at least a decade ago, and not many of their authors are still active anymore. And like I said, WikiProject Google isn't very active these days, so I'm not optimistic more people will show up. InfiniteNexus (talk) 00:35, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Alright thanks. SMBMovieFan (talk) 01:01, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
