- Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Warriors (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Books (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
- Many popular novels and novel series (see above) deal with animals, too many to not have their own project. The Warriors series has its own WikiProject, but that barely begins to cover the scope of animal literature.

Discussion
[edit]What would you consider an animal? (Kingdom Animalia? aliens? pre-humans? anthropomorphic plants? motile microbes?) -- 70.24.251.208 (talk) 05:36, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Anything in the kingdom of Animalia, but they would be the focus of a novel, not a zoological essay, so it would mostly be birds and mammals. Brambleberry of RiverClan Chat ♠ Watch 16:22, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- UPDATE: Anything in the kingdom of Animalia that is not a human. Brambleberry of RiverClan Chat ♠ Watch 17:06, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It seems this would overlap with NovelsWikiProject? How many articles outside the NovelsWikiProject would this cover? maclean (talk) 01:02, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I actually thought about this being a task force for WikiProject Novels, but then I realized that there were just too many animal novels out there. Warriors has its own WikiProject, and that is an even narrower topic than "animal literature". Brambleberry of RiverClan Chat ♠ Watch 22:54, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Good project idea; perhaps expand it to include animals in all fiction to include films, musicals etc. (e.g. the Lion King), and don't forget Watership Down! --xensyriaT 16:11, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- P.S. This also does away with the non-fiction literature that you mentioned above (i.e. essays etc.) --xensyriaT 16:32, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- That would be a good idea, but then what would it be called? "Animals in media" or something to that effect? Brambleberry of RiverClan Chat ♠ Watch 22:54, 17 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- "Animal fiction" should cover it. --xensyriaT 13:02, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Actually, "Animals in media" is the good idea. Fiction is too narrow; this must cover both fiction and non-fiction. I wonder if number of participants is analyzed. --George Ho (talk) 17:20, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Are you suggesting that the books that would fall under this project would include zoological essays? Brambleberry of RiverClan Chat ♠ Watch 17:27, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- If the Animals in Media WP is formed, I will join. Oakley77 (talk) 14:15, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Yeah, it's definitely going to be "Animals in Media" now. Brambleberry of RiverClan Chat ♠ Watch 16:20, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
