  • While there are quite a few articles, the scope is pretty small, and I don't think there's enough to justify a Wikiproject. A brand-new Wikiproject about a musician can often end up making its own rules, style guidelines, etc etc, which makes the end result of the articles that fall under its banner to look inconsistent with other articles related to music and musicians, and really they should all be consistent. Sometimes it doesn't happen, such as with the articles under the Wikiprojects for Madonna, Kylie, Michael and Janet Jackson to name a few of the popular ones. A joint Selena taskforce of WP:MUSICIANS, and WP:MEXAM would be a better option, as the taskforce can use the well-established style guidelines already laid down for writing articles about similar subjects, and receive valuable input from other members of those projects who may not join a Selena WikiProject. An independent WikiProject with maybe a low number of members for such a small scope is not really sustainable. In the future, if the task force does become bigger, and the number of articles increases, a decision to spin it out into an independent project can be made. A taskforce at this stage is a reasonable compromise and provides an opportunity to prove the worth of such a project and attract more members. Matthewedwards :  Chat  16:17, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
"Comment" Selena has well over as you say "few articles"! Selena has way more albums and complication albums from those "popular" artists you have listed combined. I don't see why Beyonce, Britney Spears, and Jennifer Lopez has a wikiproject and Selena has way more complications and albums and singles than they do! Well such, Selena deserves her own Wikiproject many people will join! esp, Selena has broken a lot of records for Television viewer ship, album sales, etc! AJona1992 (talk) 02:09, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to start this WikiProject to help maintain, expand, and guide more Selena related articles as "good articles", and FA-Class. This Wikiproject will be about Tejano pop singer Selena.
