Guild of Copy Editors March 2013 backlog elimination drive wrap-up
Participation: Thanks to all who participated! Out of 36 people who signed up this drive, 26 copy-edited at least one article. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here. All the barnstars have now been distributed. Progress report: We completed 95% of our primary goal of clearing February, March, and April 2012 from the backlog, while the total number of tagged articles dropped by almost 300. We continue to maintain a backlog of around one year worth of tags. The total backlog at the end of the month was 2835 articles, down from 8323 when we started out three years ago. Copy Edit of the Month: Voting is now over for the February 2013 competition, with Stfg winning top honors for his work on Sinfonia da Requiem. The March 2013 contest is closed for submissions and open for voting. The April 2013 contest is now open for submissions. Everyone is welcome to submit entries and to vote. Blitz!: The April blitz will run from April 14–20, just two weeks from now. Our focus for this blitz will be the newest articles in the backlog, those from March 2013. We suspect it might be possible to clear out quite a few articles that have been more recently tagged. – Your drive coordinators: Torchiest, BDD, and Miniapolis.
