1966 - Pink Floyd signed with managers Peter Jenner and Andrew King. 1967 - Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones plead guilty to possession of marijuana and allowing his residence to be used for smoking the drug and not guilty to cocaine and methedrine possession. He was sentenced to nine months in prison but was bailed out the next day. 1967 - T. Rex became the first group without a recording contract to record for Radio 1's (U.K.) Top Gear show. 1970 - Hotlegs played their first live show in London. They went on to become 10cc. 1970 - Jim Morrison was found guilty of exposing himself on stage in Miami. 1972 - Elton John performed at the Royal Variety Performance for Queen Elizabeth, the first rocker to do so since the Beatles in 1963. 1975 - Bob Dylan opened his Rolling Thunder Revue in Plymouth, MA. 1984 - Linda Ronstadt premiered as an opera singer in La Boheme in New York. 1984 - Barry Manilow set a new Radio City Music Hall record by selling $1.9 million in tickets for a series of shows. The previous record of $1.8 million was held by Diana Ross. 1990 - Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses was arrested and released on $10,000 bail for hitting a neighbor over the head with a bottle during an argument over loud music. 1995 - The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced they would induct David Bowie, Gladys Knight and the Pips, the Jefferson Airplane, Little Willie John, Pink Floyd, the Shirelles, and the Velvet Underground. 1998 - Bon Jovi opened their New Jersey Syndicate Tour in Dublin, Ireland. 1998 - The Vocal Group Hall of Fame held their first induction ceremony.
