This course covers the history of Germany roughly from the 1890s to the immediate aftermath of World War II. Students with a "B+" average or better in the 8th week of the 10 week term may opt to contribute to a Wikipedia article instead of taking the essay portion of the final exam. (I am already a Wikipedia editor, and have been offering this choice to students for several years. I have worked individually with that group of usually 5-10 students in a course capped at 42.) I have also offered a similar "biography of a primary source" assignment since 2014, published here: https://marcuse.faculty.history.ucsb.edu/projects/germanhistory/)
