Translation Event

[edit]

Wikipedia Connection is looking to host a Translate-a-Thon later this semester. In preparation for this, we are going to have an informational/demo session for OSU instructors who might want to participate in the Translate-a-Thon. We're in need of Wikipedia Connection members to provide technical help and Wikipedia expertise during this demo session.

The event is scheduled for tomorrow, November 6, at 12:00 in our normal meeting room. Please let us know if you're interested in helping out.

Meeting Information

[edit]

Our next meeting is Thursday, November 8th, at 6:00 P.M. in Room 344 of the 18th Avenue Library (same time and place as last meeting). Per usual, pizza will be provided.

Meeting Topic

Unsourced material is a constant challenge for Wikipedia. Browse around for a few hours, and you'll almost surely see the infamous "citation needed" tag or a banner at the top of the page indicating that the article contains unsourced material. Fortunately, you can help! The Wikipedia Citation Hunt tool can help you find and remove or cite unsourced material.
