Prime Ministers

[edit]

Do Prime Ministers count as high importance? Guettarda 15:20, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Prime Ministers, Presidents or Monarchs (e.g. Kings) of a country should be in high importance of that particular country's WikiProject (or WikiProject task force). Chongkian (talk) 14:44, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Top importance

[edit]

I noticed that Jwilbur placed Hispaniola into Top inmportance. I don't have a clear sense of what I consider top importance here. I think we should talk about what we consider Top, High, Mid and Low importance. Guettarda 14:31, 9 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That one usually explained (or you can add explanation) in Wikipedia:WikiProject Caribbean/Assessment. But of course you can initiate the discussion here if there are still some missing information regarding the assessment. Chongkian (talk) 00:38, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Importance scale

[edit]

My suggestion for importance scale is something like this

Top

High

  • Subdivisions of nations with clear national identities (Tobago, Nevis) or major subdivisions of non-Caribbean nations (Florida Keys, Margarita)
  • Major national leaders (Prime Ministers, Governors, etc.)
  • Major regional figures (Bob Marley)
  • Major cities
  • Major topics about national entities (e.g., History of Puerto Rico, Geography of Cuba)

Mid

  • Nationally prominent figures (politicians, musicians, trade unionists)
  • Smaller cities and towns
  • Sub-topics about national entities (e.g., Military history of Puerto Rico)
  • Sub-national entities
  • Major schools
  • Major buildings (Parliament buildings, etc.)
  • Plant, animal & microbial species

Low

  • Smaller towns and villages
  • Locally prominent figures
  • Minor secondary schools, primary schools
  • Other buildings

How's that for a start? Guettarda 17:00, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, that looks really good. It is just what I was thinking. If no one objects, we should add it to the Assessment page. Jwillbur 20:21, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As for the top-importance "major topics", here is my go at creating a complete list:
I'm not sure "Economy of" should be in there, and "Politics of" could be replaced with "Government of". These would be the same major topics for country-level (high-importance) articles, i.e. Culture of Jamaica, Economy of Jamaica, etc. Thoughts? Jwillbur 21:11, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey... you need to acess this: Tropical Storm Fay (2008)

Did you mean assessed? The article has been fully assessed. Chongkian (talk) 02:22, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
