Quality issues with Pokémon species
I think it is paramount that we go over some of the old articles and attempt to clean up what we can to see what may be salvaged. I've been doing edits in some, and noticed that the Reception sections become considerably smaller once you exclude content that does not really have any meaningful reception (ie, reception of their in-game value or merchandise info). - Bryn (talk) (contributions) 01:48, 27 June 2021 (UTC)
- I think this WikiProject is Dead. With the lack of working together, articles especially the Pokemon characters/creatures haven't been updated for decades like Pikachu, most of the Pokemon creatures are vulnerable to Afd. 180.194.152.196 (talk) 09:33, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
Hey Pokémon wikipedians!
Hey just wanted to ping the project. I don't know much (or anything) about pokemon, so I wanted to point yall to this message of mine. Talk:List of Pokémon characters#Some work I just did Signed, I Am Chaos (talk) 04:43, 22 December 2021 (UTC)
Making Incineroar back into an article
So I decided to make a draft for Incineroar and it got declined. I want to talk to you guys to see if we should either: Option A Continue working on the draft. or Option B Give up working on the draft and work on something else. THE Pizzaplayer!TALK TO MEE!! contribs 14:33, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
- I doubt that Incineroar is an important enough Pokemon to be put into a Wikipedia page. After all, how many other Pokemon could be turned into pages? Do we need a page for every Pokemon? Baudshaw (talk) 23:47, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
User script to detect unreliable sources
I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like
- John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (
John Smith "[https://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.
)
and turns it into something like
- John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14.
It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.
The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.
Do note that this is not a script to be mindlessly used, and several caveats apply. Details and instructions are available at User:Headbomb/unreliable. Questions, comments and requests can be made at User talk:Headbomb/unreliable.

- This WikiProject is inactive, so I think requests can only be made after a fair few people are back in the WikiProject. If you want that to happen, you can invite some users that may be interested, or maybe ask around on Bulbapedia or related stuff. If you don't, you can go to something like WikiProject Video Games with those requests. In any case, I'll address your requests here:
- Blastoise: I think there is good enough reasoning, so it may work
- Gengar: See Blastoise
- Dragonite: Being popular and owned by Ash does not mean notability, by any definition. Notability isn't inherited because Ash has it
- Gardevoir: I could see it, see Blastoise, iffy though
- Blaziken: See Dragonite
- Oshawott: See Dragonite
- Zoroark: Eh, I don't really know, possibly a "see Blastoise", its movie really helps
- Raichu: See Blastoise
- Garchomp: See Gardevoir
- Porygon: Dennō Senshi Porygon! already has an article, and Porygon doesn't really have notability aside from that
- Wobbuffet: Possibly, see Zoroark and Gardevoir
- Croagunk: Having a funny role in the anime doesn't translate to notability
- Piplup: Being cute doesn't mean being notable
- Rowlet: See Piplup, though a slightly bigger case could be made, I suppose
- Team Rocket: Yeah, I think it could work DecafPotato (talk) 17:52, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
