Appearance
Just saw this appear at the Hadewijch talk page – how do I find out which student(s) will be working on that article? --Francis Schonken (talk) 14:13, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Samantha (Wiki Ed), Helaine (Wiki Ed), Selichk1, and Adam (Wiki Ed): pinging some editors involved in this project as the question above thus far remains unanswered afaik. --Francis Schonken (talk) 09:05, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Francis Schonken: This page was flagged as being edited by a course due to it being added to the list of available article's for this course. So far it seems that it has been assigned to no-one in this course. Once / if a student in the course decides to work on an article it should be marked as "Assigned" in the Course description page.
- Also, generally taken it is best to treat the course talk pages similarly to the talk pages of low-traffic articles: They are availible but fairly unlikely to yield a response. Pinging the content expert listed on the course page or posting on ENI tends to yield excellent results though. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 10:59, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
Editing
[edit]- Comment. Course participants are reminded that it is the responsibility of the instructor to ensure that edits are made responsibly i.e. well sourced and non-trivial. Edits are expected to be justified by reliable sources. There is no point in just rearranging text on the page. Xxanthippe (talk) 21:27, 30 March 2017 (UTC).
- @Xxanthippe: What edit/editor/page does this concern? --Ryan (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:09, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
- It concerns all editors and all group editing. This subject is one that has interested me in the past and I was prompted to comment following poor quality editing at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/WikiWomen's Edit-a-thon at Queens College. Margery Kempe was previously subjected to a group edit and the results were not impressive. I hope that Swarthmore can do better. Xxanthippe (talk) 22:06, 31 March 2017 (UTC).
