I hope to introduce the thread of the 1955, 81 and 85 breakaways plus the court case between the FA and the Football League at a future date. Someone else can feel free to adding them if the want to however! TheBigJagielka (talk) 18:33, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Confusion regarding the fundamental difference between Premier League and the previous system
[edit]The third paragraph of the article currently reads "...whilst it was shared between all Football League clubs in the old First Division".
My understanding is that, in the Football League system prior to the creation of the Premier League, the television revenue was shared across ALL the clubs among ALL divisions in the Football League. However, this sentence may be construed as that, in the previous system, all Football League clubs in the First Division (viz. the 22 clubs) got the share. As the number of teams in the '91 First Division and the '92 Premier League were the same, that wouldn't make sense financial-wise. So I have gone ahead to change the sentence to "...whilst in the previous arrangement it was shared between all Football League clubs across all divisions". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.57.38.103 (talk) 05:38, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
Merge articles?
[edit]Suggest merging with Broadcasting and the foundation of the Premier League since the two things are inextricably linked. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.26.149.105 (talk) 15:18, 20 June 2018 (UTC)
