"Oldest surviving local"
[edit]While Gamma Phi Gamma has certainly hit a mark of being one of the older, always-independent locals, it is not the oldest. There are likely a dozen that are older. These include the Rensselaer Society of Engineers, a fraternity also operating under the name Pi Eta Scientific Society and formed in 1866, and MIT's Phi Beta Epsilon, formed in 1890 and arguably the finest local fraternity in the country. Pan Sophic was formed at Grove City College in 1911 followed by Adelphikos on that campus in 1913. Jax MN (talk) 19:21, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
