Talk:Karaoke Revolution
Organizing This Article and Other Miscellany
[edit]We could move the Japanese Karaoke Revolution games to their own article, but honestly it'd be a bit redundant. Moving the song lists to another page, however, might make a bit more sense. Thoughts?
Classifying artists featured in the Karaoke Revolution series as Bemani artists would seem disingenuous, especially since most of the artists in the US games are cover artists and generally uncredited. As for the Japanese games -- they don't appear in other Bemani games.
At this point, I'm pretty much opening the floor to more experienced Wikipedians (who ostensibly also won't get eaten by the Audubon Society over the next month).
Cheers!

Agreed
[edit]Seperation of these games into different articles would be among the better ideas for a reworking of this article. Each game introduced new things to the series, and has its own trivia and tidbits. The current article seems to be an article of mainly lists of the songs included on the games, which to the best of my knowledge is contrary to Wikipedia policy. The background information for the games should be available online. In short, I agree with the motion to seperate the games into new articles. Crisco 1492 01:33, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Are there any other video game series in Wikipedia where only a single article is available for information about all video games of that series? This article should be seperated into different articles for each game, like all other video game articles on Wikipedia, because there are different mixes of Karaoke Revolution. And what will happen if Konami started making so many new versions of Karaoke Revolution that this article will become too long? That's why they should be seperated to new articles. Just look at what people have done with Dance Dance Revolution. Geo android 06:21, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Hey! I think that it should be spilt up because it is too long. Or at least separate the japanese versions from the english! Besides if it is separated, it can have alittle more information than it does now!
i'm all for it, i think that the japanese versions and the english versions should at least be separated, if not every game in their own page. however, one page that didnt need disambiguation is the taiko no tatsujin series... -Ch604 19:26, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
- I say make separate articles for each game! Best, --Le Grand Roi des Citrouilles 14:38, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
I think that the American Idol ones should be separated. It is a bit confusing right now. Blackbirdsky13 (talk) 00:23, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
Nay
[edit]There's substantial similarities between the games, enough so that they're better covered by one article. The current article may need to be reworked, but that's not a reason to chop it up. --Improv 15:55, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Advertising or Encyclopedic?
[edit]Why are video games given special treatment on the Wiki? These are commercial products with little or no special encyclopedic interest (historic, etc..). Commercial product listings are generally removed from the Wiki. Why are video games different?--69.19.14.44 14:29, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- Why not? They have entries for, say, "He-Man." They have movies (which are also commercial.)
- They have bands and music and books. Why should major videeo games be any different?--Ryan Wise 07:04, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
innovative?
[edit]How innovative is the pitch recognition system?--Ryan Wise 07:04, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
PS3 Compatibility
[edit]I am interested in getting this game, but I currently have a PS3. Is it possible to still play this game using a USB microphone, or will the PS3 not recognize it? Also, is a bluetooth microphone compatible with the game? 72.191.25.136 23:24, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
New release?
[edit]I see Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore has just been added. Do we have a reference for this new addition? And for what consoles? Best, --Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 20:32, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- As KR:AI Encore is now out in stores on three systems, this part of the discussion is now moot. 70.225.141.83 (talk) 21:41, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
