Addition of unsourced future release dates
[edit]Hello, I see that there is has been a BOLD addition of a potential release schedule by Bryancyriel. This was REVERTed by Fram as being unsourced, re-added by Bryancyriel (breaking the BRD process and initiating the potential for EDITWARring). I've reverted it back to where it should be (last stable revision) and requested WHITELOCK protection pending the outcome of this DISCUSSion which should have been the next step taken by Bryancyriel.
The way I see it, unless a reliable source can be found (not PRIMARY if at all avoidable), then this potential future release schedule is NOT encyclopedic and should not be contained within the article. — {{U|Technical 13}} (t • e • c) 14:37, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
Notability
[edit]This game has enough hits in a WP:VG/RS search to meet the general notability guideline. Didn't look hard, but didn't see any reviews, though. Could be a merge candidate czar ♔ 00:27, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
Episodes
[edit]Hi, I am new to Wikipedia editing but I noticed this article's Episode content section is lacking severely. I have unlocked 41 stages in the game and may be able to help fill the content in, however I would not be able to cite a source as the information comes directly from the game and would have to be verified by someone else who has unlocked the same stages (or I could attach a screenshot to this talk page) -- suggestions? --Mj3ngr (talk) 17:26, 5 November 2014 (UTC) I may put a preliminary table on my page before I copy it over here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mj3ngr (talk • contribs) 17:26, 5 November 2014
- You're right about sourcing, but any information in an article should stand on reliable sources alone - two players who've both got as far as level 41 do not make a reliable source. WP:VGSCOPE discourages simply listing levels, instead saying that "Sometimes a concise summary is appropriate if it is essential to understanding the game or its significance in the industry." - if the game gets significantly different at any point, or if they're using a novel free-to-play system to unlock the levels, perhaps just write a line or two about that. --McGeddon (talk) 18:52, 5 November 2014 (UTC)
Did Rovio buy 8bit games?
[edit]There is a very similar game with similar name: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eightbitgamestudio.retrowings
Did Rovio buy them and they made Rovio-style version of their game? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.44.154.31 (talk) 14:10, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
- It appears 8 bit copied Retry, since it canes out in May and Wings came out in September. Frmorrison (talk) 19:23, 8 November 2014 (UTC)

- @McGeddon: I saw you deleted this paragraph. Any thoughts on this again? Stickee (talk) 00:26, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
- Not done: lists of levels are explicitly mentioned as "content that is generally considered beyond the scope of information of Wikipedia articles on video games", in WP:GAMECRUFT. Much better to quote a review that summarises the kind of level environments the game has, than to overwhelm the reader with a full list of level names. --McGeddon (talk) 08:50, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
End of life and removal from app stores
[edit]This game seems not to be available anymore, at least in Google Play; however I have not found any official announcement for its retirement nor any news article; only Rovio_Entertainment#Rovio_LVL11 and Rovio_Entertainment#No_longer_available_2 -- maybe it would be nice to further elaborate on this in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cousteau (talk • contribs) 15:20, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
The "Official website" seems awfully fishy
[edit]First, take a quick look at the site currently at the domain retry-game.com, and compare it to this Wayback Snapshot from 2016... (the snapshot is what i remember a couple years ago when i bought and played the game)
And then take a closer look at what is currently online:
- The ugly download button which links to softonic
- The fishy-looking "Change Steam Location For The Best Gaming Experience" article
- The reviews page featuring "reviews" from seemingly random people in comic sans font
- The numerous weird links to "retry-game.com" that seem like an attempt at self SEO-spam
- The fact that Rovio is no longer directly mentioned anywhere on the site
To me, it seems awfully likely that Rovio let the domain expire and someone else snatched it up, or something else like that.
I don't know what the appropriate course of action is, especially since this may not be self-evident enough to not require a citation stating the domain has changed hands.
