Personnel

[edit]

I read an article from Matt Fink talking about Purple Rain's 30th anniversary and he says that the Revolution didn't have much to do with this song, thus implying that Prince played all the instruments himself except the strings and backing vocals, but on www.princevault.com and the article, there is the implication that it was a full band recording. Which account is true? I've changed the personnel for the time being, but if anyone can prove me wrong or submit corrections to the personnel, according to the book about the sessions written by Duane Tudahl, that'll be fantastic and I've heard he intends to write a sequel book focusing on Around the World in a Day and Parade.61.69.217.3 (talk) 01:30, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've been listening to the song a lot over the past week for a jam session, and I can't get over the fact that this is really Apollonia singing lead with Prince as backup. Without taking anything away from what Prince brings to this, Apollonia's vocals are more front and center, and her last verse really seals the emotional feel of the song. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.129.176.107 (talk) 21:21, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Prince does electric guitar piano and synthesizers with the rest handled by his band so I don’t think this is a solo compostion DPF429 (talk) 23:47, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
