Yes, that's right, zombies.
[edit]I'm sure people will see the recent edit and think it's a load of made up rubbish but I provided a source for the info, for those that would like to read the scans themselves to check over or expand upon the information currently in the article the 6 pages of the Famitsu article are shown in these scans here (all in Japanese): http://www.playfire.com/a/forum/general-discussion/thread/84041 —Preceding unsigned comment added by CassyChan (talk • contribs) 03:02, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Well, it is in the scans that this takes place on "April 1, 2011" - really, REALLY early April Fool's, maybe? At least, that's what I'm going to hope. Isn't their bit at TGS tonight, though? Maybe they'll show something in the video...~Chelsea (talk) 17:09, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Hi, the TGS showings according to SEGA's schedule show Of the End will be there on the 16th, 17th and 18th, the issue of Famitsu is set for release tomorrow when it's first shown (hence the way they futuristically refer to the showings in past tense, lol), it's 9pm UK time here (15th), so it should be morning in Japan on the 16th, so I guess it's only 6 or 7 hours till SEGA start and we learn more. I also understand and feel the same way about whether this game will be canon, zombies are awesome but I guess we'll have to wait and see how Nagoshi approaches this one! The game has been confirmed to be a shooter, and a spinoff. Its not yakuza 5 or in the main series —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.89.246.221 (talk) 17:46, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Where? I read the interview in the scans and if anything he seems to be saying it's not a spinoff (as well as that it's neither the end of the series or of the town).~Chelsea (talk) 18:20, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
As Chelsea stated the scans (that I linked to earlier) do not say it is a spin-off, in fact it is suggested to be a direct continuation of the series. I am quite sure that to this point there has been no word on this game being a spin-off either, if any such news exists please let us know and share a link, cheers :) CassyChan (talk) 21:12, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Update on the 'canon' status of Of the End, Kikuchi talked about the game today at TGS, he specifically avoided making a statement regarding whether it's a spin-off or not, no word from Nagoshi yet either. I'm guessing it's possible they're either waiting to gauge the fan reaction, game sales or how the planning of development for their next RGG game pans out (how they choose to approach the next sequel) before they make a choice, hopefully they'll let us know soon. http://kotaku.com/5639773/how-did-zombies-invade-segas-japanese-gangster-game CassyChan (talk) 00:58, 17 September 2010 (UTC)
- The English dub of an interview with Director Jun Orihara says that this game is a spin-off, along with the Samurai titles: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/tgs-10-yakuza-4/705228 --Jtalledo (talk) 00:28, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
