Thank you for voting in my RfA, which closed successfully with 44 support, 4 oppose, and 3 neutral. I will work hard to improve the encyclopedia with my new editing tools (and don't worry, I'll be careful).

Barnstar

[edit]
The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
For taking the challenge and warning 100 vandals, I, Sharkface217, hereby award you this barnstar. Good job! --Sharkface217 19:10, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Also, I would be most grateful if you spread the word about the challenge RPC: T2 challenge to users who you feel may be interested in this sort of thing. --Sharkface217 19:12, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism warning

[edit]

You really should do a background check before warning; I used to be an ex-admin. Technical error, not intentional. Will (talk) 19:52, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Still, if the userpage is a bluelink, check the userpage first, just as a general precaution. Hardly any people with bluelinked userpages vandalise (but it happens) Will (talk) 20:01, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

[edit]

Thanks, and I'm seeing you everywhere too.   jj137 23:07, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

December 2007

[edit]

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you! Please, read carefully the block policy, as I have the suspicion you haven't. ;-) Merry Christmas! Snowolf How can I help? 13:57, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Well, it is. The point is that it's from 2006. Snowolf How can I help? 14:04, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the barnstar

[edit]

Yeah, I really like taking part in AfD, and try to do so relatively regularly - I might miss a day or two of AfDs, and then end up participating heavily in one day's discussion. I can't say precisely what is so satisfying about it, but I enjoy it anyway. I see you've added it to WP:BARN. I may award it to some users myself. Thank you.--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 16:03, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Coombabah State Primary School

[edit]

Hi, I agree entirely with your delete !vote at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Coombabah State Primary School as the article, when you saw it, was in a poor way. However, since then it has been completely rewritten to meet the legitimate concerns expressed and now has the multiple sources so it fully meets WP:N. Perhaps you would revisit your recommendation, please? TerriersFan (talk) 19:25, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your reconsideration. TerriersFan (talk) 22:30, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Socks

[edit]

You might be curious to see this. It doesn't look good.   jj137 03:25, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

Yes, and User:Sasha Callahan is one of the socks.   jj137 16:11, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
For taking the challenge and making 50 reports to WP:AIV, I, Sharkface217, hereby award you this barnstar. Good job! --Sharkface217 07:00, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
You're quite welcome. --Sharkface217 19:14, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Newsletter updates

[edit]

I have a couple ideas for updating the newsletter.

First, I think we should deliver it to everyone in the project, and if they don't want to receive it, then they can specify not to. (Any other WikiProjects I have seen do this.) I think HPJoker, you, me, and AWeenieMan are the only people who know about it right now (probably).

Secondly, I opened an RFBA so that a bot could deliver the newsletter each week. That way we wouldn't have to personally deliver the newsletter to ~50 people each week (if you like that idea).   jj137 03:33, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

I agree with StormTracker. That is a good idea. Would we be doing this during the regular season? --HPJoker (talk) 19:36, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Sorry for the delay

[edit]

I just wanted to apologize for disappearing all of a sudden. I went out of state to visit family for Christmas and haven't done much editing at all. I'll be back to my usual edit habits in a few days and we'll finish up our admin coaching then. I'm preparing to nominate you for adminship in a few weeks. Just keep up the good work and make sure you're tagging qualified newpages for speedy deletion. On the plus side, I see you're not grounded anymore. Useight (talk) 16:54, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Bot

[edit]

The bot was approved for trial for the delivery tomorrow, so I guess I will be delivering it this week.   jj137 00:52, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

We probably could still use one more article, if we can find something to write about in time.   jj137 01:44, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

AFD Barnstar

[edit]

Would you be interested in creating a similar one for CfD? (Having a file folder in the theme may or may not be a useful addition, as well.) - jc37 10:25, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

I could if you wanted me to, I just need to know what it should look like (e.g. color, text, font, etc.). STORMTRACKER 94 13:39, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
Awesome : )
I think I'll ask a few of the CfD regulars for suggestions, and get back with you (soon) on that. - jc37 19:18, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
