Hi Aeicis,

Following up on your comment on the Village Pump, as User:Chameleon says, it sounds like you are looking for User:Maximus Rex who has been around a while and generally seems to know what he's doing. You can check his list of contributions to see whether your IP turns up. I can see he put vandalism notices on 135.214.66.241 and 217.204.233.101 not so long ago. If you find your IP there and it still troubles you, you could ask him about it on his talk pages. -- Solipsist 12:23, 5 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Sorry - I posted this to your main page and the discussion on Village pump has moved on, so it is probably not relevant anymore. -- Solipsist 12:57, 5 Aug 2004 (UTC)

A- I am very impressed and pleased by your very timely contributions to the Drug Cheat page. Thank you for all your hard work. 14:58, 19 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Categorising

[edit]

Hi Aecis, I've noticed that categorized a couple of athletes as Drugs cheats in sport. They are already in Category:Drugs cheats in athletics which is a sub-category of drugs cheats in sports so do not need adding to that category as well..Scraggy4 20:22, 20 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Hi Aecis
and I have noticed that you have been categorising Dutch cities. I applaud the effort, but IMO this category should be under Category:Geography of the Netherlands. It happens there already was the Category:Cities in the Netherlands there. How should we solve this? Pethan 17:16, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I think the best option would be to move the articles in Cities of the Netherlands to Dutch cities, since Dutch cities contains more articles than Cities of the Netherlands, which would make moving the articles easier. Cities of the Netherlands could then be deleted. I think Dutch topography is different from Dutch geography, and therefore deserving of a category of its own. Aecis 17:24, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)
I agree with moving the cities to your new category, but I really think that cities should be under the same subcategory of Category:Netherlands where provinces, municipalities, rivers etc. are to be found. So I would like to suggest to moving Category:Dutch cities to Category:Geography of the Netherlands. Could you agree? Pethan 17:59, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)
To answer the point you raised about the difference between the disciplines: the wikipedia defines topography as a geography term Pethan 19:08, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Cephalic disorder

[edit]

You said on WP:CU

I see that you removed

I would like to find out who doscovered Anencephaly and when. I need this information for a biology report. If you can post it, it will help a lot. Thanks!

from Wikipedia:Requested articles. I appreciate your concern, and i've responded to the comment, but i can't figure out what your plan is for responding to the requester.

My plan, based on that incomplete info, is a temporary pointer where you removed the request from Wikipedia:Requested articles (which is still out of place but pretty harmless) and a response to the request at Wikipedia talk:Reference desk#Anencephaly as if it had been aked there. And i added my comment to your entry from CU, which can be deleted after a couple of days. Check those places, and fix if i missed something that makes my plan unsuitable to the real situation.

You seem like a committed editor, and i'm glad to have you with us. --Jerzy(t) 01:50, 2004 Oct 20 (UTC)

Article Licensing

[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)

Terms of the Zagwe dynasty

[edit]

Hi Aecis, I just noticed your edits to Rulers and Heads of State of Ethiopia, & I have to ask you where you found these dates; I suspect the source may not be reliable, because they do not match the approximate flourit for the one ruler we have definite information on -- Lalibela, who was king circa 1210. (That snippet can be found at Pope John VI of Alexandria, which I drew from the work of Taddesse Tamrat.)

I originally removed all dates for this dynasty because they are still under fierce debate: even the Ethiopian sources contradict each other over how long the Zagwe dynasty ruled. However, scholarship is always continuing, & if you have a better source than I, I'm eager to learn & add the missing information. -- llywrch 19:28, 15 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Don't fret about it; like you, I'd prefer to provide tangible dates whenever possible, & from my reading I've discovered that Ethiopian Chronology becomes particulary troublesome by this point -- & is very speculative before the Zagwe dynasty! My intent was constructively engage in a discussion & prevent both of us wasting our time reverting each other over this point.
Do you think a note explaining the lack of dates for these rulers would help avoid someone else in the future adding dates to this section? -- llywrch 16:44, 16 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The first and so far only entry of User talk:Jerzy/LoPbN#Individuals Later Invited into This Discussion is specifically addressed to you; any response by you would be most convenient if made somewhere on that subpage.

A discussion whose topic is

I see that you and I have been constantly (literally multiple times per minute) reverting vandalism by an anon. I'll keep watching the page; can you go and report vandalism? Thanks. jglc | t | c 14:33, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

    • Sounds good. I've got my eye on the List. jglc | t | c 14:35, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

misunderstanding

[edit]

the edit summary was for me putting a semi-colon in after Argy's sockpuppets before his entry - I know he's not a sockpuppet, and I was showing that he's not by seperate his name from Argy's sock-list. --Kiand 17:55, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

ChrisO blocked all the open proxies he had been using, as well as his DSL IP, I think - so no way in. Any open proxy you can find easily on the web is blocked, as is all of Tor, etc. --Kiand 21:40, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)
You know, I may have been wrong - according to WP:AN/I, Gabrichidze is a publically accesible role account... so it probably was a sock after all.
Ah well, article deleted, title protected. Never mind. --Kiand 02:19, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

eerste nl.wikimedia.org ontmoeting

[edit]

FC Zwolle

[edit]

Hi, sorry for the slow reply, my laptop died so I've not had much internet access lately.

The article's looking good, but one thing I've thought of is citing sources and having a some footnotes (for example, see Wikipedia:Footnote3) and a References section. I think that would make people more likely to vote in favour, as it seems to be a fairly common criticism of featured article candidates.

Have you had a look at the Denis Law article that I submitted for peer review (I think it's two up from FC Zwolle)? If you've got any ideas on how I could improve it (apart from getting some photos) they'd be much appreciated.

Cheers, CTOAGN 7 July 2005 22:12 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the suggestions for Denis Law. I've added the table, and will look up the records. If you're not fussed about submitting FC Zwolle as a featured article then I wouldn't worry too much about adding footnotes, but it might be good to have them for things like "ZAC was associated with the local high society, while Zwolsche Boys were associated with the working class. PEC was the club of the local middle class. There was a big rivalry between these three clubs, especially between Zwolsche Boys and PEC" as this sort of thing isn't easy to look up. Other than that it's looking great, and I'll try and get round to giving it another proof-reading, although I don't think it needs one. CTOAGN 9 July 2005 17:08 (UTC)
  • I've had another look at FC Zwolle now; hope I wasn't too brutal with it :-) It looks like a lot of changes but most of them were very small. The article's looking great.
I've set up some WikiProjects that you might be interested in :
