Image without license
[edit]Unspecified source/license for Image:Chief Babatunji Olowofoyeku.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Chief Babatunji Olowofoyeku.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 10:40, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Re:Your email
[edit]Best to keep the discussion on-Wikipedia- it's generally quicker, and others are able to see it this way. If the image belongs to you (as in, you took the picture) then you can upload it here under a free license. Just say something like 'I took this picture.' and add a free license tag- {{PD-self}} puts it into the public domain, {{GFDL-self}} releases it under the GFDL and there are several others. If you didn't take the picture, then you probably do not own the rights to it, and so cannot release it. Does this help? Please reply on my talk page. J Milburn (talk) 21:39, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- The person who took the image owns the rights to it, and so it is only them who can upload it. Could it not possibly be replaced by an image that you personally created? J Milburn (talk) 21:12, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Living Word Christian Fellowship
[edit]The article Living Word Christian Fellowship has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Individual churches aren't generally considered notable. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:49, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
- Deleted again -- there doesn't appear to be anything that has been recognized as noteworthy about this church by reliable independent sources. See WP:ORG. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:21, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of New Wine Church
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article New Wine Church, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- No evidence of the coverage in independent reliable sources required to establish notability
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Revelation TV
[edit]Akpantue, I see that you're hard at work on the article Revelation TV; still wouldn't you be better off creating or editing in the Sandbox and then moving it rather than repeated changes on a hosted page? You're really going about it the hard way and there's easier ways. You may wish to read the introduction to editing and its related help page for more information. We're really glad to have earnest and passionate editors like yourself contributing here; Thank you. Portia327 (talk) 19:08, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
You're very welcome; I'm certainly old school, too. I think it's great that you want to bring more good and solid information to Wiki; we're writing the encyclopedia for posterity and I approach it with the seriousness it deserves. Portia327 (talk) 21:48, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
Prosperity Gospel
[edit]Hey Akpantue! Thanks for stopping by the Prosperity gospel article. I'm sorry, but I had to remove one of your edits; you listed five sources and said that many prosperity gospel teachers have the largest churches within their area/sphere of operation. While I personally believe it's probably true, I took a look at each source, and as far as I can tell, none of them actually say that most prosperity teachers have the largest churches, and therefore we can't include that claim right now. If you find a (verifiable, reliable) source that says "many" or "most" prosperity teachers have the largest churches, great, then we can add the claim :-) But... simply finding a couple large churches that happen to be prosperity gospel churches isn't enough. Also, some of the sources didn't even use the words "prosperity gospel" :/
Anyway, I wanted to let you know I did have to remove that, sorry! Please feel free to read more about what is considered original research, but the gist is this: whatever claim we make in the article, the claim also has to be made in the source. If the source doesn't actually make the claim, then Wikipedia becomes the source of the claim, and that's never a good thing :-) Thank you for your understanding,
-- Joren (talk) 20:19, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of City of Faith Church
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on City of Faith Church requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. reddogsix (talk) 00:07, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
Deletion
[edit]My main concern is the spammy language vibrant... popular... successful... and so on, this is supposed to be an encyclopaedia, not a come-and-worship leaflet. However, I can see you're working on it, so for now I'll just add the page to my watchlist. One minor style thing, headings should only have the first word capitalised Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:26, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
Nomination of New Wine Church for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article New Wine Church is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/New Wine Church until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Luciandrei (talk) 19:58, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 15:50, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
One of your recent additions has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. - Please read the above notices, and don't add a fluff source like this again [2], nor unsourced personal life content. I'm assuming that WP:COI is an issue here. 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 15:57, 14 April 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading File:Toby Foyeh wiki image.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 17:30, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Whpq, please can you check that the image copyright information for Toby Foyeh is now OK. Thanks. Akpantue (talk)
- You uploaded a different picture with a different license statement. Who is the photographer for each of the images you uploaded? -- Whpq (talk) 14:00, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Whpq, the photographer for each of the images was Toby Foyeh himself and he sent me the images to add to the page. How do I show this on the licence statement? Thanks. Akpantue (talk)
- Those images do not look like selfies. That he is the photographer doesn't seem very credible. The copyright of an image is usually held by the photographer and not the subject. Regardless, I've tagged the image as lacking evidence of permission. There is a warning message in a section below about the file lacking evidence of permission. That message includes the instructions to be followed for providing the permission. -- Whpq (talk) 20:48, 19 April 2019 (UTC)

Hello, Akpantue. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 14:33, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for the information on COI. Duly noted as of now. Akpantue (talk)
- Good. Now per the guidelines, 'duly noted' is meaningless. If there's a conflict of interest, that must be disclosed. 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 17:27, 19 April 2019 (UTC)
- I have disclosed the conflict of interest, above, as per the guidelines. However I think my editing skills are now getting challenged as I am not sure I have done this properly. Happy to keep learning. Akpantue (talk)
- "I see--have you received financial compensation for your edits here? Thank you, 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 21:24, 19 April 2019 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Toby Foyeh wiki image.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Toby Foyeh wiki image.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 20:41, 19 April 2019 (UTC)
