Image uploads

[edit]

You appear to be in a bit of strife with the Imagebots over your picture uploads. Check out this one, [1] for an idea of what they're after. Feel free to cut and paste the whole fair use media rationale between the {{ }} for yourself, just remember to change the artist and article names. Hope this helps. Cheers.  Esradekan Gibb  "Talk" 02:17, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Samsparro1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Samsparro1.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:18, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

lending a helping hand

[edit]

I set up subpages of Almamy and the deleted EP's on your userpage, you can build the articles there until the subject gains some more notability and meets WP:Music. just click the red links there and edit them as if they were a Wikipedia article (you may need to insert <br> instead of just pressing enter to indent a line). The great thing about subpages is they don't need to meet any requirements! If you want me to tell you how to set up more subpages, just reply back on my talk page. - -[The Spooky One] | [t c r] 12:38, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

subpages

[edit]

to set up a subpage, put [[User:Bech86/name of supbage|name of subpage again]] on your page. I'll go ahead and set up the ones for you, until you get the hang of it. - -[The Spooky One] | [t c r] 02:54, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I set up the pages now, to edit them, just click the link i set up and edit away (btw, due to WP's rules, you can't have the album artwork on your subpage.)- -[The Spooky One] | [t c r] 03:46, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:Sparro.jpg

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:Sparro.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [2], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Sparro.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. - -[The Spooky One] | [t c r] 04:28, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You uploaded the image claiming it is under Creative Commons 3.0, but the flickr page says All Rights Reserved, which means it is copyrighted.

In the future, if you need help with uploading images from flickr, check here. Or just ask me for help. - -[The Spooky One] | [t c r] 04:35, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, i should point out you can't use non-free images (Such as album covers) in your userspace. - -[The Spooky One] | [t c r] 04:38, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Constant edits to Almamy Almami, almami (title) etc

[edit]

(who's released two songs off myspace!) is more notable than the title of rulers of several large African states (from which he takes his name!). Even if we agree to disagree, the logical choice is to create a disambiguation page. I also have POV concerns, as from your earlier edits it appears you are or are close to this DJ. ALSO, please figure out what you're going to do BEFORE you do it: you're moved this page four times in the last three days. It would be helpful if you read and understood wikipedia move and article notability policies, figured out what you wanted to do, then mentioned you were going to do the relevant discussion pages, gave time for discussions, than moved the pages with some semblance on consensus. Also manually blanking pages and moving them that was is not good practice. Please actually read wikipedia policy on moves and notability before you get back to me.

Monday I will begin the process of moving these back, and if you like we can take it to arbitration. T L Miles (talk) 20:37, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Moodgadget.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Your uploads

[edit]

Good day. I see that you have uploaded a number of images to Wikipedia. First off, thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, there are some guidelines that we need to follow with copyrighted images. Specifically, you need to add a source for the image (a link to a website will do), a copyright tag (there are some listed at WP:ICT), and a rationale explaining why we can use a copyrighted image (explained at WP:NFURG). I see that your images fail to include one of these. Please stop uploading images and address the concerns listed above. If you need assistance, you can ask at the help desk. If you do not fix these images, and you continue to make bad uploads, you will be blocked and your images will be deleted. Thanks for your contributions! File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:The_Rejection.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 12:00, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Repost of File:Danja.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Danja.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. Hi Bech86, I've deleted many of your uploaded images and removed images from the drafts you have in userspace. After some investigation it seems clear the Flickr userr Aidan Lane http://www.flickr.com/photos/30373707@N06/ is not the copyright holder of the images in his profile; the images have been taken from elsewhere and I've deleted these as copyright violations. This is an unfortunate problem with flickr that there is no clear solution to. For the userspace drafts, please note that non-free images should only be used in mainspace articles. When you move them back you can chose to re-insert them. Best regards - Peripitus (Talk) 11:10, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bech86, I am also experiencing problems with the user Duffbeerforme, he has been unfairly labeling articles I'm editing as failing to satisfy WP:Music, I would really appreciate your interjection on the talk page for Phatchance if you could, character reference for the fact he continually trolls WP pages needlessly suggesting deletion would be very useful to me.

Thank you very much :)

SteveStevezimmy (talk) 01:17, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Stevezimmy. I absolutely agree with you. Duffbeerforme seems to make it a habit of proposing articles for deletion that should not be deleted but expended instead, he's overly agressive and snappy in his editing and decisions. I believe the Phatchance article needs to be expended and not deleted and I said my piece at the article's entry. I see that you did add a lot of reliable sources and you should definitely add some more while expending the article. I will do research too and edit. Bech86 (talk) 07:01, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Bech. Now that you have been adopted maybe now is a good time to discuss reliable sources with the good Doctor. Duffbeerforme (talk) 17:33, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Duffbeerforme. Thanks to you and your tips, I've been adopted by Dr. Szląchski. Maybe your abruptness would benefit from being adopted as well. Bech86 (talk) 20:57, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You're right. It might. Duffbeerforme (talk) 02:41, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I have noticed that you have downloaded about 30 copyvios in order to make sure that an image isn't a copyvio you need to have a source that tells that the image comes from a site that allows usage of the image on wikipedia. If you want to upload a image and you aren't sure if its a copyvio you can ask me , regards Dr. Szląchski (talk) 05:06, 7 October 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Will sure do. Thank you Dr. Bech86 (talk) 14:40, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Versus move

[edit]

First of all, and EP is not considered by how many tracks it has it is determined by the time limit. Second of all it depends on the label. Versus has been referred to now as an EP, but a 25 minute album Sparks Fly is considered an album. It really it just what the label calls it first, then via the time limit. See extended play for more info. Candyo32 20:14, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
