My apologies

My apologies for asking you to review the DYK nomination in more detail, given the circumstances. Please feel free in the future to pass the review onto someone else in similar circumstances, or even if you don't feel you have time to do a more thorough review. Thanks for your review and work at DYK! ~ RobTalk 21:01, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

No worries. I wasn't directly in the line of fire, just watching it on TV for far too many hours. Thanks for your support! - Dravecky (talk) 21:05, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

I screwed up

After I created A Syllabical and Steganographical table I made a "move" to Syllabical and Steganographical table where I took out the "A" at the beginning of the title, because I thought it looked better without it. However, now I see red on the "nomination" on the Talk page of the article. So is the nomination still in play after I did my move. And can you turn the red into blue? Thanks = I tried, but without good results. It's my screw up, but I can't fix it.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 15:44, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

No worries. It's fixed now. - Dravecky (talk) 18:52, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll be more careful next time.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 19:25, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

KVOQ/KVOQ-FM

Have you ever seen anything like this before? Mlaffs (talk) 16:32, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

What the--?! Since KDCO (AM) just gave up the "KVOQ" call sign on 7/31, I wonder if this is just a temporary screw-up on the FCC's part rather than a radical realignment of how call signs work. - Dravecky (talk) 18:52, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, I think I'll drop them an email to find out. Wouldn't be the first time I pointed out an error to them. :>) Mlaffs (talk) 00:50, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
I have noticed that the FCC website is very slow to update anymore. The calls for WWRE were switched from WTGD to WWRE on July 31, but the station's page on the FCC website wasn't updated until August 5. So, KVOQ-FM could very well have a new callsign, but it might be a couple days before the FCC record is updated. - NeutralhomerTalk01:55, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

Template:Did you know nominations/Howard Weist

The article is Howard Wiest where in the nomination the letters of "ie" got turned around and it doesn't show up as a real nomination. It is NOT my nomination, but one of a co-editor's I have been working with for years. I don't think he realizes the mistake -> can you fix it for him. Thanks.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 21:39, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

I don't see why the lede must be rewritten. The lede already summarized the whole article. What else is needed in the intro? --George Ho (talk) 09:36, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

At a minimum, the lede should begin with or at least include the article title (in bold text). The current lede gives no explanation as to why this article is called "Saint-Quentin-Fallavier attack" as it doesn't even mention Saint-Quentin-Fallavier. - Dravecky (talk) 09:42, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Rachel Berry (Miss Oregon), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Allison Cook. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi! Just wanted to let you know I removed from the article {{recent death}}, a template that "warns our readers that the information presented in the article may not be final due to missing/unpublished/uncertain information about a recently deceased person, and that readers should therefore be cautious about the content presented. This is generally true for all of our articles, but in cases of extraordinary public attention that risk is especially high. As such, it should only be used in cases where many editors (perhaps dozens or more) are editing the article on the same day, and it should be removed as soon as the editing goes down to a normal level again. Do not use it merely to tag the article of a recently deceased person, as that would defeat the template's purpose." Cheers! —ATinySliver/ATalkPage 🖖 07:37, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Right. There were half a dozen editors on that article in a three-hour period as the mainstream media reports began to break. Without even a place of death noted yet and a sudden surge in editing, an overnight (U.S. time) recent death notice seemed prudent. As we say in Texas, this is not my first rodeo. - Dravecky (talk) 08:10, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
Hehe gotcha. I saw nine total edits from five editors and a nearly-one-hour gap from my edit to yours; if I jumped to a conclusion, it wasn't entirely unwarranted. ATinySliver/ATalkPage 🖖 08:27, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Chelsea Malone - Alpha Phi Omega

On the one hand, I certain believe that Chelsea Malone is an Alpha Phi Omega brother, but blogs are generally not considered appropriate as references (though I do agree that Fran Becque is an excellent researcher. Do we have a better reference on that?Naraht (talk) 03:35, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

KVOQ/KVOQ-FM redux

Just to circle back on this, looks like it was a complete brainfart on the part of the FCC - they've rolled back the KDCO/KVOQ call sign swap as though it never happened, with no record of it in the call sign changes logs. Your tax dollars at work! :>) Mlaffs (talk) 13:03, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
