Help?

[edit]

Lot of issues with the raw list this week; I don't know where to begin. Maybe you can help? I'm not sure that the global warming related articles are due to honest views. They should have faded with the typhoon coverage, and instead have remained exactly where they were last week. Serendipodous 20:23, 24 November 2013 (UTC) @Serendipodous: Hmm, I think maybe there's a delayed effect going on? I wouldn't totally discount the views. Keilana|Parlez ici 20:42, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'm running really late this week because of the uncertainty. I'm keeping the global warming pages but I'm making it very clear I'm uncertain about them. Oh, and was there a Wikipedia Weekly this week? Shame if you're skipping a week, because I'm really proud of some of my work last week. Serendipodous 17:20, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It looked good! We are not planning a WW this week because most of us are American and therefore have family/Thanksgiving obligations. I can make sure we discuss two weeks' worth of top 25 next week though! :) Keilana|Parlez ici 20:09, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh please don't do that on my account; only if you get bored of talking about the JFK assassination, Doctor Who and global warming denial and would rather discuss Armistice Day and devastating typhoons. And global warming denial. Yeah that's a bit of a trend. Rather depressing really. Serendipodous 11:12, 28 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
We do have tons of time! :P I have noticed the depressing trends - also deaths in 2013 are morbidly popular... Keilana|Parlez ici 18:29, 28 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Any chance of a Wikipedia Weekly this week? Sorry to be a bit selfish but I'm under fire in the Signpost again and could really use the positive feedback :-) Serendipodous 11:47, 23 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia Library's Books and Bytes newsletter (#2)

[edit]

Welcome to the second issue of The Wikipedia Library's Books & Bytes newsletter! Read on for updates about what is going on at the intersection of Wikipedia and the library world.

Wikipedia Library highlights: New accounts, new surveys, new positions, new presentations...

Spotlight on people: Another Believer and Wiki Loves Libraries...

Books & Bytes in brief: From Dewey to Diversity conference...

Further reading: Digital library portals around the web...

Could you weigh in on a style question?

[edit]

I got a query from User:Madscientist2007 about some styling suggestions made by User:Jim892 on their article's talk page, here (specifically, the discussion under "First impression" and "Limiting content box and first image". I know what I will suggest, but since you are much more knowledgeable about style issues, your opinion would be valuable. Klortho (talk) 04:25, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Update: never mind, I see that Neelix already registered an opinion. Probably enough feedback for them already. Klortho (talk) 04:49, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

constellations redux...

[edit]

Keilana, looks like Cygnus might be the next real collaboration/biggie, so any help with the stuff would be great - Perseus is at FAC now, as is Hydrus, while Triangulum is through now and Tucana is lined up to go but might need a lookover for prose....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 03:59, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I like doing the bigger and more exciting constellations, hence Cygnus :). Any help with the mythology section (which I have literally no clue about) would be awesome! StringTheory11 (t • c) 05:51, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

GOCE December 2013 Blitz wrap-up and January Drive invitation

[edit]
December Notes from the Guild of Copy Editors

The December blitz ran from December 8–14. The theme for this blitz was articles tied in some way to religion. Seven editors knocked out 20 articles over the course of the week. Our next blitz will be in February, with a theme to be determined. Feel free to make theme suggestions at the Guild talk page!

The January 2014 Backlog elimination drive is a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on January 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on January 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goals are to copy edit all articles tagged in October and November 2012 and complete all requests placed before the end of 2013. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits at least one article, and special awards will be given to the top five in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", "Number of articles of over 5,000 words", "Number of articles tagged in October and November 2012", and "Longest article". We hope to see you there!

Coordinator election: Voting is open for candidates to serve as GOCE coordinators from 1 January through 30 June 2014. Voting will run until the end of December. For complete information, please have a look at the election page.

Books & Bytes New Years Double Issue

[edit]
Books & Bytes

Volume 1 Issue 3, December/January 2013

(Sign up for monthly delivery)

Happy New Year, and welcome to a special double issue of Books & Bytes. We've included a retrospective on the changes and progress TWL has seen over the last year, the results of the survey TWL participants completed in December, some of our plans for the future, a second interview with a Wiki Love Libraries coordinator, and more. Here's to 2014 being a year of expansion and innovation for TWL!

The Wikipedia Library completed the first 6 months of its Individual Engagement grant last week. Here's where we are and what we've done:

Increased access to sources: 1500 editors signed up for 3700 free accounts, individually worth over $500,000, with usage increases of 400-600%
Deep networking: Built relationships with Credo, HighBeam, Questia, JSTOR, Cochrane, LexisNexis, EBSCO, New York Times, and OCLC
New pilot projects: Started the Wikipedia Visiting Scholar project to empower university-affiliated Wikipedia researchers
Developed community: Created portal connecting 250 newsletter recipients, 30 library members, 3 volunteer coordinators, and 2 part-time contractors
Tech scoped: Spec'd out a reference tool for linking to full-text sources and established a basis for OAuth integration
Broad outreach: Wrote a feature article for Library Journal's The Digital Shift; presenting at the American Library Association annual meeting

WikiCup 2014 January newsletter

[edit]

The 2014 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with, at time of writing, 138 participants. The is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2010. If you are yet to join the competition, don't worry- the judges have agreed to keep the signups open for a few more days. By a wide margin, our current leader is newcomer Smithsonian Institution Godot13 (submissions), whose set of 14 featured pictures, the first FPs of the competition, was worth 490 points. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:

Featured articles, featured lists, featured topics and featured portals are yet to play a part in the competition. The judges have removed a number of submissions which were deemed ineligible. Typically, we aim to see work on a project, followed by a nomination, followed by promotion, this year. We apologise for any disappointment caused by our strict enforcement this year; we're aiming to keep the competition as fair as possible.

Wikipedians interested in friendly competition may be interested to take part in The Core Contest; unlike the WikiCup, The Core Contest is not about audited content, but, like the WikiCup, it is about article improvement; specifically, The Core Contest is about contribution to some of Wikipedia's most important article. Of course, any work done for The Core Contest, if it leads to a DYK, GA or FA, can earn WikiCup points.

If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Help with adding user's talk page and sandbox to your watchlist

[edit]

Hi, Kleina!

Part of the assignment for this week in our Molecular Biology course is to add your teammate's user page and sandbox to your watchlist. I'm rather confused on how I would do that. When I posted on my teammate's talk page, that was indicated on my watchlist; however, I'm not sure I have properly added my teammate's user page and sandbox to my watchlist.

Any clarification you could provide would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Kneal0627 (talk) 20:19, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) @Kneal0627: See WP:WATCHLIST. All you have to do to watch any page is click the star icon at the top near the "history" tab. Your preferences are probably set to add any page you edit to your watchlist, which is often a good idea. If you see the star icon at the top of the page is filled-in blue, then it's on your watchlist. If the star is empty, it's not. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:21, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

March GOCE copyedit drive

[edit]
Notes from the Guild of Copy Editors

The March 2014 backlog elimination drive is a month-long effort to reduce the backlog of articles in need of copyediting. The drive begins on March 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on March 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goals are to copyedit all articles tagged in December 2012 and January 2013 and to complete all requests placed in January 2014. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copyedits at least one article, and special awards will be given to the top five in the following categories: number of articles, number of words, number of articles over 5,000 words, number of articles tagged in December 2012 and January 2013 and the longest article. We hope to see you there!

WikiCup 2014 February newsletter

[edit]

And so ends the most competitive first round we have ever seen, with 38 points required to qualify for round 2. Last year, 19 points secured a place; before that, 11 (2012) or 8 (2011) were enough. This is both a blessing and a curse. While it shows the vigourous good health of the competition, it also means that we have already lost many worthy competitors. Our top three scorers were:

  1. Smithsonian Institution Godot13 (submissions), a WikiCup newcomer whose high-quality scans of rare banknotes represent an unusual, interesting and valuable contribution to Wikipedia. Most of Godot's points this round have come from a large set of pictures used in Treasury Note (1890–91).
  2. Oh, better far to live and die / Under the brave black flag I fly... Adam Cuerden (submissions), a WikiCup veteran and a finalist last year, Adam is also a featured picture specialist, focusing on the restoration of historical images. This month's promotions have included a carefully restored set of artist William Russell Flint's work.
  3. United States WikiRedactor (submissions), another WikiCup newcomer. WikiRedactor has claimed points for good article reviews and good articles relating to pop music, many of which were awarded bonus points. Articles include Sky Ferreira, Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus and "Wrecking Ball" (Miley Cyrus song).

Other competitors of note include:

After such a competitive first round, expect the second round to also be fiercely fought. Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 1 but before the start of round 2 can be claimed in round 2, but please do not update your submission page until March (UTC). Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points equally.

Good luck! WikiCup 2014 March newsletter

[edit]

A quick update as we are half way through round two of this year's competition. WikiCup newcomer Smithsonian Institution Godot13 (submissions) (Pool E) leads, having produced a massive set of featured pictures for Silver certificate (United States), an article also brought to featured list status. Former finalist Oh, better far to live and die / Under the brave black flag I fly... Adam Cuerden (submissions) (Pool G) is in second, which he owes mostly to his work with historical images, including a number of images from Urania's Mirror, an article also brought to good status. 2010 champion (Pool C) is third overall, thanks to contributions relating to naval history, including the newly featured Japanese battleship Nagato. Rhodesia Cliftonian (submissions), who currently leads Pool A and is sixth overall, takes the title for the highest scoring individual article of the competition so far, with the top importance featured article Ian Smith.

With 26 people having already scored over 100 points, it is likely that well over 100 points will be needed to secure a place in round 3. Recent years have required 123 (2013), 65 (2012), 41 (2011) and 100 (2010). Remember that only 64 will progress to round 3 at the end of April. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page; if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points equally. Request for usurpation

[edit]

Hello, Keilana. A request has been made at Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations to usurp, or "take over", your username because another user would like to use it to edit. The changing username guideline allows a username that is not being actively used to be usurped if the user is given an opportunity to object and does not do so.

If you have an email set in your preferences, you should be getting an email from a bureaucrat or changing username clerk explaining how to consent or object to this process.

If you do not object to being renamed to a new username in order for another user to use the name you currently have, please log in and post a reply here saying so (you may also tell us what username you would like to be renamed to, or we will provide you with a generic one).

If you do nothing: the request may be filled shortly, and your account will be moved to a generic username. You may request that it be moved to a new username of your choice at any time.

If you object to being renamed: please log in and make an edit to this page clearly stating that you object to usurpation. Any objection on your part will prevent usurpation.

Please note that even if your current username is usurped, you can still edit and your data will not be lost; your preferences, watchlist, and other user settings will be transferred to a new username.

Thank you for your time. StringTheory11 (t • c) 05:44, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help with article

[edit]

Hi, Keilana! Thank you for your comments and suggestions on our article Gene Clusters for our Molecular Biology semester project. We will take these into considerations as we work to improve upon the article. I actually had a question regarding the citations needed for the information under "Creation of gene clusters." This initially had a citation; however, a deletion in another area of the article by a different user resulted in the reference being deleted. Is there a way to get the original article back so we can ensure we have the right reference for the material? We can make the deletion ourselves and ensure that the reference is retained. Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Kneal0627 (talk) 12:47, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Kneal0627: Hey, so you can click on the "View history" tab and click on the original version - that way you can click on Edit and copy the citation right over. Let me know if you need help with that! Best, Keilana|Parlez ici 18:30, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
The Socratic Barnstar
For the most articulate rant, and on a subject of huge importance, I've seen for a very long time. It's rare to see somebody make such an important point in an intelligent, thought-out manner that tell the reader what the problem is and how we can (start to) fix it, but doesn't apportion blame. We need more Wikipedians like you, and if the WMF had any sense, reading that article would be a watershed moment for them. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:27, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help with placing image on article

[edit]

Good evening, Keilana!

I was wanting to use a generalized image from a journal article. The image I would like to use is found here: http://www.nature.com/hdy/journal/v94/n2/fig_tab/6800621f2.html#figure-title. I was wondering how I would go about embedding this into the article. Also, because it is technically from a journal article, would I even be allowed to use this image? If so, would I need to cite it?

Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Kneal0627 (talk) 04:24, 2 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Kneal0627: Hi, so sorry it took me this long to get back to you! You can't use that image because it's in a copyrighteed article as far as I can tell. If you're talented with graphics, one thing you might be able to do is to create your own diagrams and donate them to Wikipedia. Otherwise, I would suggest looking for a Creative Commons licensed image in a journal like PLOS. Keilana|Parlez ici 17:14, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! Thank you for taking a look at the image. That's what I thought, so I haven't used it. I went ahead and emailed the author to see if I could get permission to use it. I'll see if I can find something else or create a diagram. Thanks again! Kneal0627 (talk) 18:21, 5 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Keilana, I made some edits to our article based on the comments you made about the structure and how it may be malformatted. Can you take a look at it and tell me if it looks ok now? Im trying to find a way to remove the cite error in the reference section. I know the language is still technical and I'm trying to use words to describe the process in laymen terms. It's hard when you have to be specific too. I asked my 12 year sister (7th grader) and she understood the article for the most part, but she and her friends told me that whatever they didnt understand they could easily look up. Im hoping the image will be helpful along with the text. Let me know what I can do, Im open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!Tatabox8 (talk) 06:02, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Citing sentences with same source

[edit]

Hi Keilana, on our inital feedback for our first contribution to our article you mentioned that we don't need to cite the same source twice in a row. Does it apply to all material in the article? Or if we are referencing processes and studies we should reference each sentence even if it's the same source? I have been removing same source reference back to back, but another reviewer thought we should cite the source. I can see it either way, but I just want to keep it consistent throughout our article and make sure I'm doing it properly to the standards of wiki. Thanks for your time!Tatabox8 (talk) 00:49, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks! Just to double check should the reference be cited in the first sentence we use the source and in the following sentences we would not need to keep on re-citing the source or at the end of the last sentence we the source for?Tatabox8 (talk) 16:00, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Question regarding Review of Molecular Biology Article

[edit]
Hi Keilana,
I have a question about the review you did for the JHU Molecular Biology articles. This particular article was entitled "minigenes". In your review you stated that sourced material for a medical article needed to be no older than five years and must be a review article. The minigene article is a mixed usage article about basic research and medical uses. I was wondering if only the medical sections of the article or the entire article had to meet the guidelines for sources. Could you respond ASAP ? We need to correct the article before for the next review.
P.S. I know what you mean about getting slammed with homework.
Deacon C (talk) 20:47, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Deacon C: The guideline only covers the medical sections. Good luck with the rest of the article! Keilana|Parlez ici 22:31, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation join the new Physiology Wikiproject!

[edit]
Physiology gives us an understanding of how and why things in the field of medicine happen. Together, let us jumpstart the project and get it going. Our energy is all it needs.

Based on the long felt gap for categorization and improvization of WP:MED articles relating to the field of physiology, the new WikiProject Physiology has been created. WikiProject Physiology is still in its infancy and needs your help. On behalf of a group of editors striving to improve the quality of physiology articles here on Wikipedia, I would like to invite you to come on board and participate in the betterment of physiology related articles. Help us to jumpstart this WikiProject.

  • Feel free to leave us a message at any time on the WikiProkect Physiology talk page. If you are interested in joining the project yourself, there is a participant list where you can sign up. Please leave a message on the talk page if you have any problems, suggestions, would like review of an article, need suggestions for articles to edit, or would like some collaboration when editing!
  • You can tag the talk pages of relevant articles with {{WikiProject Physiology|class=|importance=}} with your assessment of the article class and importance alongwith. Please note that WP:Physiology, WP:Physio, WP:Phy can be used interchangeably.
  • You will make a big difference to the quality of information by adding reliable sources. Sourcing physiology articles is essential and makes a big difference to the quality of articles. And, while you're at it, why not use a book to source information, which can source multiple articles at once!
  • We try and use a standard way of arranging the content in each article. That layout is here. These headings let us have a standard way of presenting the information in anatomical articles, indicate what information may have been forgotten, and save angst when trying to decide how to organise an article. That said, this might not suit every article. If in doubt, be bold!
  • Why not try and strive to create a good article! Physiology related articles are often small in scope, have available sources, and only a limited amount of research available that is readily presentable!
  • Your contributions to the WikiProject page, related categories and templates is also welcome.
  • To invite other editors to this WikiProject, copy and past this template (with the signature):
  • To welcome editors of physiology articles, copy and past this template (with the signature):
  • You can feel free to contact us on the WikiProkect Physiology talk page if you have any problems, or wish to join us. You can also put your suggestions there and discuss the scope of participation.

Hoping for your cooperation! DiptanshuTalk 12:59, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for quality articles on constellations, such as Andromeda, and on women scientists, such as Marie Lachapelle, and for successfully showing the value of females by your sheer kind presence for others, - repeating: you are an awesome Wikipedian (26 November 2008, 22 April 2012)!

WikiCup 2014 April newsletter

[edit]

Round 3 of the 2014 WikiCup has just begun; 32 competitors remain. Pool G's Oh, better far to live and die / Under the brave black flag I fly... Adam Cuerden (submissions) was Round 2's highest scorer, with a large number of featured picture credits. In March/April, he restored star charts from Urania's Mirror, lithographs of various warships (such as SMS Gefion) and assorted other historical media. Second overall was Pool E's Smithsonian Institution Godot13 (submissions), whose featured list Silver certificate (United States) contains dozens of scans of banknotes recently promoted to featured picture status. Third was Pool G's United States ChrisGualtieri (submissions) who has produced a large number of good articles, many, including Falkner Island, on Connecticut-related topics. Other successful participants included Rhodesia Cliftonian (submissions), who saw three articles (including the top-importance Ian Smith) through featured article candidacies, and Washington, D.C. Caponer (submissions), who saw three lists (including the beautifully-illustrated list of plantations in West Virginia) through featured list candidacies. High-importance good articles promoted this round include narwhal from Canada Reid, iain james (submissions), tiger from Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions) and The Lion King from Minas Gerais Igordebraga (submissions). We also saw our first featured topic points of the competition, awarded to Nepal Czar (submissions) and Indiana Red Phoenix (submissions) for their work on the Sega Genesis topic. No points have been claimed so far for good topics or featured portals.

192 was our lowest qualifying score, again showing that this WikiCup is the most competitive ever. In previous years, 123 (2013), 65 (2012), 41 (2011) or 100 (2010) secured a place in Round 3. Pool H was the strongest performer, with all but one of its members advancing, while only the two highest scorers in Pools G and F advanced. At the end of June, 16 users will advance into the semi-finals. Allie Douglas

[edit]

Hi, I noticed you created the redirect Allie Douglas, and thought you might be interested to know that after seven years, Wikipedia finally has gotten her name right! See talk:Vibert Douglas. Doing my part to improve the coverage of women scientists;) Actually I just happened to notice this because I was patrolling for errors and found a malformed move request. Hope to hear a new WikipediaWeekly soon. Cheers, Wbm1058 (talk) 15:43, 18 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Greg Kohs and WikiConference USA

[edit]

Dear Keilana: Is this report accurate: WikiConference USA bans critic from open meeting? If it is accurate do you know if a response from the conference organizers is forthcoming? I won't spend time explaining exactly how upsetting this is and how very bad it looks on its face until the accuracy of the report is confirmed. It looks really bad, though, and I really hope there's a plausible explanation. Note that I'm not asking about the rejection of Kohs's presentation, but only about the allegation that he was barred from an event touted as "open to all participants, regardless of previous level of involvement with Wikipedia or the Wikimedia projects. We welcome the curious, the skeptical, and others wishing to engage in meaningful conversation about the Wikimedia movement in the United States, free culture and digital rights, advocacy and outreach, community building, and technology." I posted the same question on Newyorkbrad's talk page, but he declined to respond substantively. I am also leaving it on the talk pages of the other conference organizers.alf laylah wa laylah (talk) 19:18, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Participation: Thanks to all who participated! Out of 51 people who signed up this drive, 33 copy edited at least one article. Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here.

Progress report: We reduced our article backlog from 2,987 articles to 2,236 articles in May, the lowest backlog total since we began keeping records in 2009! Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Endometrial cancer, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Stroma and Adnexa (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Stuff

[edit]

I see it must have been Endometrial cancer....well, on a related topic, cervix, has been recently promoted to GA and I have listed it at Peer Review (see Wikipedia:Peer review/Cervix/archive1 ‎) as it seems a shame not to give it a push to FA...you thinking of that for Endometrial cancer as well? Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 03:24, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Casliber: Hah, indeed it was! I'd love to push endometrial cancer to FA, it's got quite a long way to go. I've also got a digital Netter's I think so will take a look at cervix as it's related. :) Keilana|Parlez ici 04:19, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Errrr, what's a digital Netter's? Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 05:22, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Casliber: It's the other big anatomy atlas, at least it is in the US. I have access to a digital copy. (yay!) Keilana|Parlez ici 13:50, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ahaaaa, I have a 1967 Gray's and a 1969 text by Gardner/Gray/O'Rahilly which is concise and more useful in some ways....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 14:02, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hrm. I'll see if I can get anything on the layers in my edition, the lack of conciseness may help there. ;) I'm not sure where to look in nonhumans though. Keilana|Parlez ici 14:06, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Also - cool news - Kapteyn's Star haz planets - nice as I am sorta buffing Pictor to boot it over the GA/FA line at some point...just for fun. I dunno why you liked that funny referencing system it's in but ...meh. Also I set up a category for Bastille Day at DYK - so any french women scientists - DYK besoin de lots of them pour that date....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 14:16, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ooh planets! Exciting! I don't remember why I used that system for Pictor but it worked when I had a bunch of pages from the same book and didn't want a bunch of repetitive citations. Feel free to change it! :) I've got a horde of French women scientists and may be able to get a few through... Keilana|Parlez ici 14:19, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I guess I can come up with some French something-or-others..dunno (It's after midnight here and I couldn't sleep, so I just got up and mixed me a stiff vodka) hmmm. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 14:26, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There's always the French astronomers - Lacaille and them all. Hope you can sleep...or if not, get some quality editing done! Keilana|Parlez ici 14:28, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia Library: New Account Coordinators Needed

[edit]

Hi Books & Bytes recipients: The Wikipedia Library has been expanding rapidly and we need some help! We currently have 10 signups for free account access open and several more in the works... In order to help with those signups, distribute access codes, and manage accounts we'll need 2-3 more Account Coordinators.

It takes about an hour to get up and running and then only takes a couple hours per week, flexible depending upon your schedule and routine. If you're interested in helping out, please drop a note in the next week at my talk page or shoot me an email at: jorlowitz@gmail.com.
