Hi OlEnglish. I got your name off the list of participants at Wikipedia:Wikiproject Cooperation. I have a conflict of interest with NuScale Power, which I'd like to bring up to "Good Article" status, as I do on most pages where I have a COI. I shared a proposed draft on the Talk page here a couple weeks ago, but nobody has shown an interest in reviewing/considering the draft as an improved version of the article. Do you have time to take a look and consider my work? CorporateM (Talk) 18:58, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

deOrphaning script
Hello everyone! I was just working on responding to a couple bug reports for a script that I worked up as part of a request from this project, and I noticed that only a couple people (who weren't even on this mailing list) are actually using the script. A little history on the script: In March of 2014, Jim Cartar came to my user talk page and said he needed some help in acquiring a script for a backlog drive that he was working on that could keep track of and score deOrphanings for a scored backlog drive. I took that request to the project's talk page (BackLog Drive "DO" (De-Orphaning) script proposal) and there was near unanimous support for this. I thought about the proposal and decided the best way to do it was to build a new script (which is still no where near as comprehensive as Manishearth's OrphanTabs) and build into it a mechanism that will make BLD scoring easy.
What I'm wondering at this point is, since there appears to be only two people using the script, should I continue to develop this script with a goal of using it for scoring BLDs or just debug the existing script and leave it at that. Thanks for any replies or comments.

Help with Aubrey McClendon?
Hi OlEnglish, I found your name on the list of participants in the Living People workgroup at WikiProject Biography, and hope you might be interested in helping out on an article I'm working on. I'm proposing some improvements to the article for Aubrey McClendon, an Oklahoma businessman, and I'm looking for editors to review my suggestions.
Up front, I'd like to let you know that I'm working as a paid consultant to Mr. McClendon, so I'm not making any edits and instead hoping to discuss changes on the article Talk page due to my conflict of interest. An editor did already reviewed my proposed updates for the article and was generally in favor of moving the draft live. Since they've not been around for a few weeks now, I'm hoping someone like yourself can take a look and share any feedback. Thanks, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 16:04, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Redirects from people, to joint biographies and elsewhere
Hi. Shooting of Amadou Diallo isn't a joint biography. Compare William King and Antonio Murray, which is a joint biography of the two people named in its title (selected in case you are interested in the police officers charged with crimes, and convicted in this case), or Montgolfier brothers, whose two incoming personal redirects I "completed" last hour.
Working continually on Redirects from people, just now I re-classified and expanded Sean Carroll (police officer), and did the other three police officers along with the victim Amadou Diallo, and his mother and Kadiatou Diallo. Only a couple days ago I learned the method for providing visible rather than hidden WP:COMMENT explanations such as:
- "participating police officer to event"
- "from victim to event"
- "from mother of victim, plaintiff, and memoirist to event"
(quoting the the three linked redirects). See the code if you are interested. Or, this week, I am pasting the crucial part of the {Redr} template code into my edit summaries. The numeral '1' attaches its explanation 'e' to the first of the particular redirect messages. If you are interested, here is almost the only one that I have done with two explanations, history: Finbar Prunty. Numeral '0' would display the explanation above the particular template messages.

- To editor Lwp2004: Well, to join a WikiProject all you need to do is edit the articles related to that subect, which you're already doing. You can also add your name to a user list, and watch the talk pages of the various wikiprojects for any related discussion. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Baseball, Wikipedia:WikiProject National Basketball Association, Wikipedia:WikiProject National Football League and others, that sometimes have user lists, and sometimes they also have userboxes that you can display on your userpage to show other people that you're part of that wikiproject. For help with images in infoboxes see Help:Infobox picture. -- Ϫ 03:29, 2 June 2015 (UTC)

Still on the list
I know you are busy, œ, and I'm in no big hurry with this, I see that you are still on the list as willing to be asked to nominate a user to RfA. I would like to become an admin and want your opinion whether or not I am qualified to be one. Again, there is no rush, so please don't let this take you away from your higher priorities. Paine Ellsworth talk 05:16, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
- Yes you are indeed qualified in my books. I'd be glad to nominate you, just let me know when you're ready and I'll do up the nom. -- Ϫ 08:37, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you very much! I sincerely hope that I live up to the standards, and your strong vote of confidence does inspire me to continue. I am still reading and re-reading; there is a lot of material to read in preparation, as you know. Learning as I go, I am ready now to begin the process.
- I feel I should tell you of a recent controversy that ultimately resulted in editors doing the right thing. Though the outcome was favorable for all parties, there were some bad feelings expressed by other editors against me that may come out at the RfA. If you think that this might end up in any way as a blot on your nom, I really would not want to see that happen. The discussions that escalated into the bad situation as well as the successful outcome are on this talk page, here, here and here. In a nutshell, I reverted a page move (twice) that had been to an unsuitable title. There was a move request to rename the page to that same incorrect title that resulted in a viable compromise. There were some pretty bad (and false in my humble opinion) accusations made in the RM discussion and on my talk page. Ultimately, the title of the page was changed to a better name that seemed to satisfy all parties including myself. I took no action against the other editors, and instead dropped the whole issue after the RM closed. Since it is possible that at least one RfA participant may bring up this RM in an adversarial manner, I thought you should know about it. And if after looking at this you should feel in any way uncomfortable to nominate me, it is better to know that now than later. Whatever you decide, I am very thankful for your above very positive words to me. Paine Ellsworth (talk-contribs) 12:08, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
- Naaah I wouldn't call that a controversy. It's simply a discussion, of the kind that happens on Wikipedia very regularly as a normal part of the consensus process. Your intentions were only to improve Wikipedia in good faith. Obviously people won't always agree with you but what matters is that you were civil and courteous throughout. -- Ϫ 13:30, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for that – I feel much better about the whole thing. I have some things to do, so I'll sign off for now. Joys! Paine Ellsworth (talk-contribs) 13:47, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

Hey
Hi, OE. In light of recent events, I thought I would drop by and say "hey" as we do in my corner of North America (lower right-hand side). I have never been a big fan of the RfA oppose strategy of grossly exaggerated attack and attempted railroading of the candidate. And even less so of false accusations of "racism" in any context. Your guy is obviously well qualified, and I am still hopeful we can get this back on track. It appears that reasonable support and neutral comments have stopped the pile-ons for the time being, but he's going to need some defending to decisively turn the tide. I've said my piece for the present, but please let me know if there is anything I can do to help, even if that only means providing moral support for the next 6 days. Cheers. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 14:56, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
- Please! And thank you. If this candidate fails, especially after the recent undeserved failings of perfectly fine admin candidates, I'm going to feel very disheartened with Wikipedia and the path it's heading down. We seem to be losing track of what it REALLY means to WP:AGF. People have become vindictive and battleground'ish. WP:Wikilove is dead. I'm jaded. Thank's for coming by. -- Ϫ 15:02, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
- I've done what I could, and probably said more than I should in the process. Certainly much more from me at this point has the potential to injure the cause. Hopefully, other discussion participants will read some of my comments and links and realize what a hack job is being attempted by by the chief opposer(s). No RfA candidate is perfect, including this one, but no one should have to engage (or be permitted to engage) in character assassination to oppose an RfA in good faith.
- That said, my personal support of the candidate remains strong. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 19:26, 7 October 2015 (UTC)

Redirect
Why did you create a redirect at Javed Ali (country town)? As far as I'm able to determine, the movement of Wee Waa to that title was just an instance of an immature user moving an article to his own name; that's why I undid the move (in response to a request at the Teahouse) without leaving a redirect. Do you know something I don't? Deor (talk) 05:17, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Deor: is right - the creation of "Javed Ali (country town)" was vandalism, which should not be immortalized with a redirection. Similarly, "Waa Waa" does not need a redirection either: in attempting to reverse the vandalism above, "Waa Waa" was created as a typo. That was corrected to "Wee Waa", which should be the end of the matter - no need to preserve that typo for posterity as a redirect. There should just be one article, Wee Waa, with neither of these redirects. --Gronk Oz (talk) 05:51, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, Waa Waa was my stupid boo-boo when trying to move the article back where it belongs. That redirect should be deleted as well (or should perhaps be changed to redirect to Wah-wah (music) as a plausible misspelling). Deor (talk) 10:51, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
- Well, if they give the town a name like "Wee Waa", then they have to expect that people will get it wrong! --Gronk Oz (talk) 11:18, 30 October 2015 (UTC)

I see that you removed the page protection for toilet recently. As you can see on the history page, the vandalims resumed again, wasting our time. I therefore suggest to put the protection level up again. Sadly, lots of sanitation topics like human feces, shit, defecation seem to need page protection as some losers think it's so funny to mess up those pages. re Anthony Calvillo and Warren Moon
I am contacting you regarding a change to the Wikipedia page for Anthony Calvillo that I made a few weeks ago, and that was subsequently removed by you. I would like to discuss my proposed change with you, in hopes of being able to add the amendment in the future.
I enclose the following information re Anthony Calvillo and Warren Moon and would like to add this information with your approval, the page re Anthony Calvillo,s football record. The entry re Anthony Calvillo should mention that in Canada the game is played in three (3) downs, not four as played in the USA. It is important for the readers of Wikipedia to note that his production is even more stellar than highlighted. For your verification I enclose where you can find the pertinent information – The Canadian Rule Book is found on Website: http://www.cfl.ca/page/game_rule_rule1
The rule as relates to three downs is:
Rule Four, SECTION 6 – SERIES OF DOWNS
Article 1 – 10 Yards On Three Downs Team A shall have three downs in which to gain the required distance of 10 yards. A down may be repeated following the application of a penalty against either team. If in a series of three downs, Team A has not gained the required 10 yards, the ball shall be awarded to the opponents as first down at the point where the ball becomes dead. If the required 10 yards are gained, a new series of downs begins.
(THE OFFICIAL PLAYING RULES FOR THE CANADIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2015, Pg. 37)
Re Warren Moon-: as you acknowledge Anthony Calvillo’s Canadian Record I believe it would be advisable to add his Canadian production of 21,228 yards to his American production of 49,325 to total 70,553 yards.
Your kind attention is appreciated.

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Clara Bow, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you.
Pop cult items are allowed to be listed without any additional sourcing if they are straight-forward reportage of contents without interpretation or analysis. What you're doing is making an assumption about the origin of a character, or the character's name, and that is not straight-forward reportage, it is, in fact WP:OR, and requires a source if it's going to be acceptable. So... go find a reliable source that says that the character (or the character's name) is based on Clara Bow, as we cannot take your word for it.Please do not re-add it, as you are already several stepins into edit warring and I'm sure you don't want to go any farther. BMK (talk) 02:10, 29 December 2015 (UTC)- I did add a source. Go read your talk page.
<Rolls eyes>-- Ϫ 02:13, 29 December 2015 (UTC) - Or better yet, go READ the source! -- Ϫ 02:15, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
- And your insinuations of edit warring by me is quite absurd. You simply asked for a source which I provided! -- Ϫ 02:16, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn't see the ref, so my mistake, and my apologies - but keep your rolling eyes to yourself, please. BMK (talk) 02:16, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
- <sigh> I apologize too. Really, you just caught me in a very uppity mood. My responses to you were a bit rude. -- Ϫ 02:19, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
- As I said on my talk page, these things happen, and I've certainly been there myself. Best, BMK (talk) 02:26, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
