Tropical Depression 01W

[edit]

Hi there, i have redirected your article: Tropical Depression 01W to the seasonal page as there is no need for it to have an article. Because the only impact it caused was to the Philippines and that was very minor, and because the JTWC only considered it a TC for 12 hours. Sorry.Jason Rees (talk) 14:09, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Tropical Depression 01W (2011)

[edit]

Hello Unogarcia,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Tropical Depression 01W (2011) for deletion, because it appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article, [[:{{{article}}}]].

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Mr T(Talk?) (New thread?) 10:51, 14 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 10:07, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for joining the project! I hope your time here at Wikipedia will be enjoyable and productive. Also, thank your for your contributions to Leopold Koss. Unfortunately, I have had to remove some of them because they were written like an obituary and did not adhere to a neutral point of view, which is very important on Wikipedia. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me on my talk page. Regards, AutomaticStrikeout 16:36, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Unogarcia. I noticed that you assessed Tropical depression 01w(2012) as a Good article. However promoting an article as a Good one is a community process and as such needs to be reviewed by an independent editor. To do that you need to submit it at this page. AIRcorn (talk) 03:00, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OK it appears you created this article as a copy of Tropical depression 01w (2012). after it was redirected. I am not an expert on Tropical cyclones, but since there is aleady some objection to its existence as a stand alone article you would be better of either undoing the redirect at Tropical depression 01w (2012) and starting a discussion or even better starting a discussion at 2012 Pacific typhoon season. You may want to ask for advice at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Tropical cyclones, they are a very active project and will offer advice on how to proceed. As the article title for this article is wrong I will redirect it to Tropical depression 01w (2012) (which at this stage basically means 2012 Pacific typhoon season. AIRcorn (talk) 03:14, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

i will not create more articles i will not be a wikipedia anymore most of all you expert editors i will say that i am only a beginner you dumb

As noted above I merged the article with the seasonal article since this years Tropical Depression 01W was a weak tropical cyclone that caused very little impact and can be easily contained within the seasonal article. I also feel that not every tropical cyclone is notable enough to have a separate article especially ones that do not have that much Meteorological history and ones that are only warned upon by the JTWC for a few hours.Jason Rees (talk) 03:38, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on (TD 01W) (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The RFC for TAFI is nearing it's conclusion, and it's time to hammer out the details over at the project's talk page. There are several details of the project that would do well with wider input and participation, such as the article nomination and selection process, the amount and type of articles displayed, the implementation on the main page and other things. I would like to invite you to comment there if you continue to be interested in TAFI's development. --NickPenguin(contribs) 02:35, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

TAFI

[edit]

Hello,
In the past few days, Today's Articles for Improvement has gone through many changes.

  • We have modified the process for adding Nominations, which now uses a template/table format and requires only 3 supports for an article to be selected.
  • There is now a Holding Area, where articles are kept for discussion before being selected for a particular date.
  • The TAFI schedule now involves adding 10 articles weekly, chosen from a variety of topics.
  • We now have an Accomplishments page where we will be highlighting our older TAFI articles which have now become quality articles on the Wikipedia.

The Project is almost ready to hit the Main Page, where it will be occupying a section just below "Did you Know" section. Three article from the weekly batch of 7 will be displayed randomly at the main page, the format of which can be seen at the Main Page sandbox. There is also an ongoing discussion at the Main page talk over the final details before we can go forward with the Main Page.

If you have any ideas to discuss with everyone else, please visit the TAFI Talk Page and join in on the ongoing discussions there. You are also invited to add new nominations, and comment and suport on the current ones at the Nominations page. You can also help by helping in the discussions at the Holding Area.

Above all, please do not forget to improve our current Today's Articles for Improvement

Thank you and hoping to have some productive work from you at the Project,

I've added an opt-in section for those interested in receiving TAFI notifications on the project's main page, located here. Those that don't opt-in won't receive this message again. Also, a revised notification template has been created, located at Template:TAFI weekly selections notice. Northamerica1000(talk) 05:15, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
