This incomplete article is basically WP:SYNTH and WP:OR that theorizes a connection between modern Chandigarh and ancient Indian civilizations. ("The land...was probably a part of the Kuru Kingdom...") It existed for many years as a redirect, but was recently reverted. The article fails WP:GNG, both on inadequate sourcing and on WP:NOT, so a delete would be appropriate, but restoring a stable redirect to Chandigarh#History established through AfD consensus would be acceptable too. Given this article was recently proposed for deletion twice by User:BarntToust before those were contested by User:Mushy Yank on the basis of this being "not uncontroversial", I figured this ought to be formally discussed. This article was only created back in April and covers an actress who has only been featured in two WP:RECENT films (one released this year) and two recent television series. It fails the WP:GNG because most of the sources are primarily noting the actress was cast in the media mentioned (most of which are a client page and a social media post). The article fails to establish significant independent coverage of this subject herself aside from purely noting her roles and some brief trivia on a college. If anyone is interested in expanding upon the contents, I would suggest moving this to the draftspace (where it should have been started) to allow for further edits to be made to establish potential notability, especially as many of their roles are fairly recent or still upcoming. Trailblazer101 (talk) 04:04, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's Comment: While this may not be particularly relevant to this discussion, I think it is worth noting that this article's subject apparently took issue with the prior deletion proposal (seen here and here), and based on the comments from an obsessed IP here, I think it is suffice to say that there is some bias that exists but ignores Wikipedia policy. I don't think this would have any impact on this outcome here, though including for transparency. Trailblazer101 (talk) 05:16, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fails notability, I googled him and didn't find much except few videos and few other things in social media. Contrary to the claim that says that the logos are "discussed in articles as listed on this page", these former crests are not subject to sourced critical commentary in History of Swindon Town F.C., where they are used. In order to satisfy the contextual significance criterion, an additional non-free item must either "itself [be] the subject of sourced commentary in the article" or "where only by including such non-free content, can the reader identify an object, style, or behavior, that is a subject of discussion in the article", as "only a single item of non-free content meets" WP:NFCC#8. Per WP:NFC#cite_note-4, "The use of historical logos for an entity is not allowed, unless the historical logo itself is described in the context of critical commentary about that historical logo." None of these requirements occur in the aforementioned article. plicit 06:43, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deadly embrace

[edit]

From the history, it looks like this was in reference something Dijkstra said about deadlocks (the computer science topic), but this phrase isn't actually mentioned in the latter article, nor can I find any other coherent topic to redirect it to, so it doesn't make much sense.

If we delete it, lookups of "deadly embrace" will show something like this, which would probably be better than what is shown now.

Hello, Newman!

[edit]

Only mentioned once at the target phrase article, claiming to be "Jerry's trademark phrase" for Newman. Is the phrase trademarked? No clue, as there is no reference anywhere in the paragraph where this is stated to be true. Otherwise implausible for people to use this phrase to reach the article about Newman from Seinfeld, before searchers attempt to search for Newman (Seinfeld) (as the character's name is in the phrase in question). Comment: Do we do soft redirects to Wikiquote? (Not sure if a target exists, not sure if we do such soft redirects these days ... just asking based on our Wiktionary soft redirects' existence.) Steel1943 (talk) 18:35, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We do do soft redirects to Wikiquote when that's the best target. No opinion (at the moment) on whether that's true in this case. Thryduulf (talk) 02:05, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I just looked at Wikiquote for a bit: Seems it's more focused on non-serial media, such as films, instead of reoccurring media, such as TV series. What I mean is if a quote is stated more than once in a media (such as multiple episodes in a series), it seems there is no clear target for the quote on Wiktionary. (There may be character pages ... but I haven't figured that out yet.) Steel1943 (talk) 18:16, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A replica redirect of an unmentioned lyric from the show in question. This lyric, which was not mentioned anywhere in December of last year, is still not mentioned anywhere. Not enough blue links to warrant a template. All the red links are not notable articles (we do not require separate team articles for this low coverage tournament) and 2 of the blue links are at AFD too. Joseph2302 (talk) 09:17, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There are already forward/backward navigational links in the infobox on Matthew 16, and the handful of other articles linked from this template are linked from appropriate places in that article. There apparently used to be a large number of articles on the verses of this chapter, but these are now redirects, so I think this template is no longer needed. -- Beland (talk) 03:15, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
