Misfire on talk page - Help needed

What happened here? It seems to have sent the info to never never land. Did I set something up wrong?
⋙–Berean–Hunter—► ((⊕)) 17:00, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I also seem to be unable to revert the bot to get the messages back. What happened????

Got it reverted for now but would like to get the problem figured out before it makes its rounds tomorrow.

Archive counter

I put the counter active at 16 accidentally (for the first time and I did'nt know) and and MiszaBot III archived it to User talk:Ankit Maity/Archive 16(of course it's blank because I moved it to User talk:Ankit Maity/Archive 1) and I set the counter to 2. It went all okay for the next archive as it archived it to 2 and then 3 but today I saw that it archived to Archive 3 again. It was supposed to be in Archive 4. Currently I have the counter parameter disabled. How to solve it and let it again go in the consecutive order? Please do help me.

The bot archived to Archive 1 after you set it to counter=1, then to #3 after you set it to counter=3. Left to itself, it would have kept adding to the same archive until the page size exceeded the maximum (currently maxarchivesize=256K).
What are you trying to do?
  • Make every save on a new page? Set the maximum size to something tiny. I don't see why you'd want that though.
  • Make a separate archive for every month? Use | archive = User talk:Ankit Maity/Archives/%(year)d/%(monthname)s.

Oh, I understand. I am so foolish. I thought MiszaBot III goes to a new archive every time it saves and the maxarchivesize meant the maximum info an archive could hold.--Ankit Maity Talkcontribs 05:23, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

MiszaBot III Question

What is the reason why we have to ask for a key to not have pages be the sub page of the page being archived, and what would that do for us? I don't need a key, I was just wondering.  JoeGazz  ▲  00:56, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Probably to prevent vandals from instructing the bot to do something silly, like setting it to archive a high-traffic talk page to User talk:Jimbo Wales or something. –xenotalk 14:00, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Odd archive

[2] How is the bot trying to archive page header content? Gimmetoo (talk) 13:17, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I believe you've already figured it out; the archiving code was broken in this edit. –xenotalk 13:55, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Monitor. WikiProject Poland Newsletter: Issue 1 (April 2011)

WikiProject Poland Newsletter • April 2011
For our freedom and yours

Welcome to our first issue of WikiProject Poland newsletter, the Monitor (named after the first Polish newspaper).

Our Project has been operational since 1 June, 2005, and also serves as the Poland-related Wikipedia notice board. I highly recommend watchlisting the Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland page, so you can be aware of the ongoing discussions. We hope you will join us in them, if you haven't done so already! Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; in this year alone about 40 threads have been started on our discussion page, and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised.

In addition to a lively encyclopedic, Poland-related, English-language discussion forum, we have numerous useful tools that can be of use to you - and that you could help us maintain and develop:

This is not all; on our page you can find a list of useful templates (including userboxes), awards and other tools!

With all that said, how about you join our discussions at WT:POLAND? Surely, there must be something you could help others with, or perhaps you are in need of assistance yourself?

You have received this newsletter because you are listed as a [member link] at WikiProject Poland. • Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 21:11, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
