I am nominating this for featured list because I think it meets all of the FL criteria and so has great potential to become a Featured List. it is one of the most important lists in the scope of WikiProject Pakistan, is up to date and is well referenced. Initial comment by Dudley
- The lead is ungrammatical and unclear. I can have a go at a redraft if you wish. Dudley Miles (talk) 12:57, 28 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose poorly written lead, poorly formed citations (about fifty or so have the same title!). Needs real work before it's a shout for a candidate here. The Rambling Man (talk) 22:19, 4 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Closing note: This candidate has been archived, but there may be a delay in bot processing of the close. Please see WP:FLC/ar, and leave the {{featured list candidates}} template in place on the talk page until the bot goes through. Giants2008 (Talk) 22:31, 18 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am nominating the List of awards and nominations received by Kelly Clarkson for featured list because after a comprehensive overhaul of the page accompanied by archived reliable sources, I feel that it now meets the FL-criteria and is now similar with the standard found on the FL-approved list of awards won by artists. I'll do my best to address your concerns/reviews. Thanks! Chihciboy (talk) 20:25, 29 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Everything I've suggested has been addressed, I can't see why this shouldn't be promoted, so it has my Support. — Calvin999 14:42, 22 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Comments from FrB.TG Responding to an early request posted on my talk page. I am not opposing but there are many issues throughout the list and mind you that these are just examples and this is not exhaustive.
- Surely there is a better image than the current where all we can see is a woman standing on a red carpet. Can we have another one where we can see her face?
- "Kelly Clarkson is an American singer-songwriter and actress whose work in music and film has earned her numerous accolades" - sure she has won numerous awards for her music, but has her roles in films earned her accolades? As far as I can see she has been nominated for Razzies but that is by no means an accolade.
- "She came into prominence after becoming the original winner of the American television competition American Idol in 2002" - what is an "original" winner? Does this mean that she won the first season of the series? If so, I think you should rephrase it.
- "Her debut studio album Thankful was released in a year later" => "... released the following year"
- "and produced the hit single "Miss Independent"" - hit is an informal term. Also, does it imply that it was both critical and commercial success or simply a financial success?
- "Her sophomore studio album Breakaway, released in 2004, won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album and was nominated for an American Music Award and a Juno Award.[5][6][7]" - why do we need so many references. As far as I can tell, not one of them is needed here since they are (presumably) already cited in the main body of the list and we do not need to repeat references in the lead per WP:LEAD. The same applies to other references which are almost identical to the ones throughout the list.
- I don't see the need for her third album to be written in the lead since it did not win any awards.
- "including a Grammy Award nomination for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals" - I would remove "nomination" since you it's clear if you read back: "Because of You" with American singer Reba McEntire which was nominated for various country music awards"
- As I read the lead, I find it to be very Grammy-centric for example instead of saying that "DYWS" was nominated for a Grammy, you could list the other awards it won, which in my opinion is more notable than a nomination. The third paragraph is even worse which is all about Grammy; the only other award I see is World Music Awards. Surely out of the 57 awards she has won the Grammy is not the only one which is worth mentioning.
I am going to stop here as I think I have made a number of suggestions and I should probably give you some time to sort them out. – FrB.TG (talk) 15:26, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Comments from Aoba47
- I agree with FrB.TG about the infobox image. I can understand why you used this image as it shows Clarkson with an award so it is obviously appropriate for this, but I would suggest the close-up/cropped version of the same image from Wikimedia.
- I agree that the inclusion of film in the first sentence is somewhat awkward. Technically, the Golden Raspberry Award is an accolade (just not one that actors really want lol). I think it is odd to mention in the first sentence when a majority of her accolades are for her music, and she only has a few awards for her film work. Also, the “awards” for her film work are not mentioned at all in the lead so it makes seem a little out-of-place. If you want to leave the reference to film in the lead, then I would suggest putting the Raspbery nominations for her work in From Justin to Kelly somewhere in the lead.
- I understand FrB.TG’s comment to remove the reference to My December, but the lead single “Never Again” did get nominated for Radio Disney Music Awards so I would suggest adding a brief part about that in the beginning of the second paragraph. Otherwise, you can remove the reference to My December as those are the only related nominations that I can find in the list.
- I agree with FrB.TG in that the lead seems very Grammy-focused. I understand that it is the most prestigious award for music (in America at least). I would suggest adding more variety.
- Remove “nomination” after “Grammy nomination for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals” as nominated was said previously in the sentence.
@Chihciboy: Otherwise, great work with this article. I will support this once my comments are addressed. Aoba47 (talk) 21:15, 12 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
